I told you so.

Chico is what happens when you destroy your tax base.

Higher taxes, higher energy costs, out of control bureaucracies ... ie Liberalism is turning California into Detroit. And the rest of the country will follow.

With the Feds borrowing 30 cents on the dollar and Bernake printing a trillion dollars a year you haven't
seen anything yet.

Now that we live in a country where those who go to the polls to vote for themselves more stuff can outvote those who have to pay for it there's a hard rain gonna fall.

Jerry Hughes thinks Chico deserves — and wants — an aquatic center.
Earlier in the year, CARD explored the idea of a revenue measure — either a tax or parcel fee — to support a laundry list of recreational facilities and upgrades listed in the master plan.
No new taxes please.

I will wager that the same folks who want no new taxes will be the first in line flocking to the Chico aquatic center as if though it were their birthright...

Card should not be allowed to even entertain the idea of new taxes for an aquatic center.
They can't even effectively manage the local parks. They are complete idiots including the field manager.

A new fence has been approved for the waste management center on River Road to the tune of $35,000. Add to that $20,000 approved so that the workers will not have to punch in a set of codes or swipe a credit card to open the gate. The $20,000 will pay for an electric gate so the workers will not have to even extend an arm to have the gate "magically" open.

How appropriate that they just drive up and the gate "magically" opens for them. Just as the pocketbooks of the people of Chico open for the current City Council. Don't you think that you could have waited until the debt is down just a little before springing for these frills?

Me, I’m sick of paying taxes when others who make more than I do pay little or less than I do. How do I know, my wife is a tax lady!

Hell, I want to pay the same percentage of my gross that Warren Buffet paid on his.
