I find it amazing that the righties who genuflect to the waltons could give crap that the big -box stores are putting the mom & pop capitalists out of business.

Won’t be long before a couple of companies control everything in America.

They had the huge fish sign that extended out over the sidewalk and the city tried to force them to take it down and the citizens of Chico petitioned for an exemption. The exemption was granted. I wonder what happened to that sign when they closed the shop?

On another note, Barth's was the home of the Russell lures, great for trout on lake almanor.

Too bad the left wingers are so single minded that they cannot function on any level other then political attack. They must be very unhappy people. Liberalism at its root is a negative philosophy which begs for governmental control of the individual because of a lack of faith in people to make good decisions for themselves and their communities. As a conservative, I believe in individual freedom and the power of the individual to create good things for the community and nation.

You got that right…

T Publicans are hypocrites and flip-floppers (not to mention losers) of the first degree.

You could bet your last dollar that had the ACA aka OBAMACARE been set up by a bush the W or a Romney in it's present form the T baggers would be jumping up and down telling us all how great the new system is...

Grandpa Nicolai et al, sadly you are a function of your own jealousy for the success of other people. Maybe you would like more money or more recognition of some ability but something is lacking in your own self vision. You should seriously think it through and maybe you will attain a more positive outlook on the endeavors of your fellow man.

The world is full of successful people whose success does not depend on exploiting people, bribing politicians, nor polluting and ravaging our planet, and they also endeavor to help those less fortunate then themselves, therefore...

The more power to them!

Unfortunately, the KRANKENSTEINS, LOCOS, and the PSYCHOPATS of this world lend their support to the avaricious bribers who pollute the most, exploit the most and are totally devoid of any sense of social responsibility. May

their ill gained empires collapse.

G.N.

You are truly a sick individual. Drunk on the sour juice of self defeat and the fear to build your own future.

You have no idea what good any of us do for our community but you expect the worst from us because we dare to disagree with the likes of you! SAD, SAD, SAD.

Yes.
He is the type of person that would defile a person's personal property without even knowing the individual on a personal level.
I have always endeavored to find the best in people. The ole socialist pos endeavors to find provocation and hate.
A very sad lonely miserable ole prrick.

Thanks for bringing up Barth's store. I will be sure to stop in when I am downtown.

KRANKENSTEIN,

Thank you for being concerned about my future and let me assure you that I am living my "future" and it is a bright one.

And while we are at it I would like to respectfully suggest that it is you who might be "a sick individual," as you say.

I mean look... here I am disagreeing with you and you start calling me "a sick individual."

talk about SAD, SAD, SAD, will ya…?

Dear Local,

Sadly the Barth's store was closed many years ago but remains a great memory of Old Chico. The way Chico was before SF starting shipping their homeless population to it. When the alley ways did not smell of urine and feces and people felt safe to walk in the downtown at night.

Calif. has become THE destination for the homeless due to the milder weather.
There are obamavilles(homeless camps) popping up all over the state.....especially socal.

As a point of interest, with the exception of a few hobo camps, homeless camps were virtually unknown in California until the great Ronnie Raygun popped on the scene, closed the mental institutions and also set the Nations economy on the road to hell, therefore I propose that...

homeless camps ought to be known as Reaganvilles in honor of St Reagan.
