I see, you can spin it anyway you want to also. Enough said.<quoted text>
You can spin it any way you want, here are some facts
1. Chico fire somehow found a way to cut OT after nakamura mentioned calfire. Very weasily.
2. If they had done this earlier their fellow city employees would not have lost their jobs.
3. Caper acres would still be open.
4. We're not talking about hiring more fire personnel, were talking doing more with less. Cutting wages and contributing more to pension,
5. Reduced staffing and everyone is ok.
6. If fire doesn't like new wages/pension structure hit the road. You are public employees and there will be hundreds lined up to take over.

There has been no "check and balance" with our back door, closed room negotiating sessions between public unions and politicians.
In the meantime, politicians have given away the farm.
It is time for things to change..........and I agree...."If fire doesn't like new wages/pension structure hit the road. You are public employees and there will be hundreds lined up to take over"
We need to urge our so called leaders(elected) to "sunshine"(open to press/public scrutiny) all public employee union negotiations. Perhaps "we the peeps" will have some input before it is too late.

Can you deny any of the above? I think not.
It is hard to argue facts with emotional arguments. You are probably also somehow tied financially to the issue ie spouse fireman etc.
Now we have another 700000 in deficits. Not saying its your fault but as overcompensated public employees like it or not you will be a part of the solution.

The good news is this should be the last surprise, Councilor Morgan said. The bad news is the budget we just passed in June there is $ 700,000 not accounted for. "The impacts still will be devastating",Councilor Stone said.
Anticipated revenue and savings benefits from elsewhere will not be able to compensate, making deeper cuts necessary.
I am only one council member but I will scream from the rooftops that we cannot afford to cut public safety any more for any reason. Its going to have to come from somewhere else, Morgan said.

Mayor Scott Gruendl told the E- R last week that an audit by an outside firm is nearly done, and hes troubled by the preliminary findings. He said the audit will show that the council has been hoodwinked by city staff in the past.

Hey Steve, if Nakamura is the City Manager you still are being hood winked. Good luck!
#314 Sep 17, 2013
All of the financial trouble we are currently experiencing is directly due to the incompetence of current/past council, city manager and our former (your current) finance director.
Nakamura was brought in to clean up a huge mess, and is doing it. Pay him what he wants, he's the only one telling the truth and making the tough decisions.
