For those who don't know, if a rock or foreign object is thrown from a truck's tires and hits your windshield or damages the body of your car, you can successfully claim damages against the company that owns the truck.
A lot of people don't, which is silly--the insurance companies can more than afford a legitimate claim here and there, given the number that they stonewall or lie their way out of.

My wife's car windsield was just hit (3 weeks ago). A large object hit the windsield directly in front of her face. The windsield withstanded the impact. However it caused a silver dollar sized impact fracture in the glass. This area on HWY 99 is a hazard. CalTrans should be responsible.

How do you claim damages from a truck if the vehicle is traveling in the opposite direction? This is when the rate of speed (for an opject) will be at its greatest prior to impact. But, in a work zone you can submit a claim to Caltrans. However, don't bother you will never get paid.
