Having driven fire trucks in emergency situations, I know that things can get very "helter skelter". However, professional firefighters should be trained as to avoid tragedies like this one. That little girl survived a plane crash only to be killed by an over zealous "professional" responder who simply didn't think.
Just like the "hot shot" firefighters who were sent to their deaths into a place where they shouldn't have been sent. Some over zealous government "professional" made a horrible decision.
Some of these folks need to be reigned in.

In 1990, visibility was so poor that rescuers drove right past two Northwest Airlines planes that had collided in dense fog on a runway at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. In 1996, when a Federal Express plane with smoke in the cabin made an emergency landing at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, N.Y., rescuers had no idea where the fire was, so they soaked the entire aircraft with so much water and foam that the plane split in half, exacerbating the mishap.
