I was scammed,
I ordered an engine for my CRX.Rising Sun said they have what I need I stock, I sent them a check for $1090.00.
The check went through our bank on 9/27/2012. In August they called to verify where to send the engine.
We confirmed where to have the engine delivered in Kent, Wa.
After no delivery of the engine I called and was told that they would call me back with the location of the engine, that it had been shipped.
I called back the next day no answer. They are using caller ID, I have used different phones and still it went to voice mail.
I have called for days and now the number is disconnected, I have sent daily emails messages no responce. I called the transport company and they have no record of the shipment and phone number.

I'm sorry to hear that.
A few years ago (4?)I was shopping around for a Japanese motor and found bad news concerning their reliability and failing to honor their promises. In fact there was enough that, despite their assurances, I decided to go with someone else.
Maybe try small claims court? Not much else you can do.:-(

I have a small claims against them they won't pay it

Why didn't you stop payment?
Why haven't you filed a law suit?

Are they totally shut down? Or have they sneakily changed the legal name of the co. to move cash around?
I'm sorry to say, you must now get a court order forcing them to pay, but if they're in bankruptcy you may only get pennies on the dollar. Please speak with an attorney or someone familiar with current law.
If they have assets they can be attached, but of course the relatively small amount of money you lost compared to attorney's fees may not be worth your time.
It's frustrating nothing much can be accomplished. I know; it's happened to me.

Same thing happened to me right around the same time as Cecil. I filed in small claims court, won, and got my money back. It took quite a while but it was worth it. Might be harder now.

Capitalism at its best! If the people at Rising Sun Engines Inc had any other motive than to separate you from your money they/d be a 501 organization.

I was looking for a motor today and trying to remember the correct web address for Rising Sun, as all I was getting was a blank page. So I googled the name as I remembered it and what a surprise to see page after page of complaints. I had been using them for my import engine needs many times over the years. To say I was saddened and disappointed at all these bad reviews and accusations of scam is an understatement.
I had almost taken a big chance back in summer of 2012 as I was going to order another engine (To the tune of about $2500), but the person who owned the car changed his mind during ordering, as he decided he wanted me to rebuild his engine instead. Guess I dodged a bullet that time. I had been very happy with the engines I bought from this company. From the reviews I have been reading all over the web it seems like I am the only one. So sad when companies wind up like that. I guess it's time to for me to find another more local supplier.
