Food stamps and unemployment insurance is up because there's a lack of jobs, brought to us by the repubs, and continued by repub obstruction.
And corporate welfare is 150% of welfare for individuals. But, of course, you can't understand corporate welfare. You can see when your neighbor uses food stamps. You can't see corporate welfare because your mindset is so limited.
How did W. crash the financial markets?

Dear Casual reader,

The poster who calls himself LOCAL, more commonly known as LOCO for obvious reasons, is a plagiarizing ignoramus who does not understand the difference between…

Climate and Local weather and who would like you to forget that the worst recession since the great depression occurred on the watch of…

bush the W, the same person who failed to protect the Nation on 911, even though he spent the entire month of August playing on his Texas ranch...

still waiting for someone to explain how W. crashed the financial markets.
Of course, any sane person knows that the real estate/financial market crash was a direct result of the REPEAL OF THE GLASS STEAGALL ACT(Clinton 1999)....AND....the gerrymandering of the communtiy reinvestment act (Clinton 1999).
It can all be found under it's true name:
Financial Services Modernization Act
http://www.banking.senate.gov/conf/grmleach.h...
Google it for yourselves or better yet, read this:

There goes LOCO spreading more myths and conservative disinformation!!

the GLASS STEAGALL Act is still applicable because contrary to popular belief, it was…

never repealed, just amended folks.

"Glass-Steagall was never repealed. It is still applicable to insured banks and forbids them from underwriting or dealing in securities. What was repealed in 1999 were the sections of Glass-Steagall that prohibited insured banks from being affiliated with firms—commonly called investment banks—that engaged in underwriting and dealing in securities.(emphasis added)

https://www.nccivitas.org/2013/hr-836-perpetu...

and, many of those who are much better informed than our YOKEL LOCO say that the amendment to Glass-Steagall had little if anything to do with the financial crisis…

Childish stupidity on a grand scale from our la mierda de toros y mentiroso patológico.

I corrected your "opinion" that W. "crashed the markets" in another post. It was Clinton's actions in 1999 just before he left office that lead to the financial'real estate crash.(The Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999)

and here is a prediction for you now my lil teepee ditto head liberal....
We WILL have another financial calamity within the next ten years due to obama's running up the national debt to $18 trillion(more than the national GDP).
Someone else will be the potus when it comes and morons like you will blame someone else(maybe the current potus if he/she is conservative), but make no mistake, it will happen because your O-Boy has done NOTHING to hold down federal spending. In fact, he has spent like a drunken sailor and added unfunded liabilities(obamacare) to make it even worse.
Just like Clinton's actions took 7=8 years to manifest into collapse, O-Boys mismanagement of the federal government will lead to the next collapse.

You are not welcome for the history lesson.

The repubs have, and are, always fighting for de-regulation. During Bush's 8 years, as the sub-prime bubble was expanding and getting ready to burst, Bush told his SEC-- the agency that's supposed to oversee Wall Street-- to look the other way.

"President Bush Appointed An SEC Chief Who Believed Government Was "A Service Industry" Rather Than A Strict Regulator. According to fraud expert Bill Black: "George W. Bush was an ardent anti-regulator. He appointed the nation's leading anti-regulators to run the regulatory agencies.

Harvey Pitt, a Bush appointed SEC chairman, " explained his guiding rule:'I am committed to the principle that government is and must be a service industry.'"

The sub-prime pools that collapsed our world economy are known as derivatives. "Bush's Pick To Run The Federal Reserve Said In 2005 That Derivatives Did Not Need Regulation Because Traders Were "Very Sophisticated."

http://politicalcorrection.org/factcheck/2011...

The SEC didn't even pick up on Bernie Maddoff until his Ponzi scheme had become obvious to every one else for years..

Yes, the dems were also involved in de-regulation by eliminating Glass-Steagall and other important safeguards. But Bush's intentionally inept SEC was the final reason for the meltdown.

Which left us losing 750,000 jobs A MONTH when Obama took over. And Bush's two wars and tax cuts left Obama with a huge debt crisis as well.

But Obama soon turned the job loss into job gains-- and he's had more new jobs on his watch then we've had for decades. Just think how many more jobs we would have if the repubs quit obstructing infrastructure spending.

And repubs are STILL fighting for MORE de-regulation. The new attempt to reinstate Glass-Steagall was refused by the Tbaggers in Congress. They're still trying to defund Wall Street safeguards of the Dodd-Frank bill passed by the democrats.

The definition of insanity.... doing the same thing that destroyed us a few years ago.

The liberal dems were the ones that got Glass Steagal overturned for their man-god Klinton! Thy wanted the money that the lobbyists from the insurance companies were offering to get it done.

G-R-A-N-D-P-A is too ill to remember how it went down but the rest of you should know!
