I say CLEAN HOUSE.
Don't vote for any incumbent who has been in office more than 10 years. As far as LaMalfa... he has his head in the sand and was a major player in the delaying of passage of the State budget.

Mike from Oroville-Red Bluff has it partly right in cleaning house. I agree that we need to have a fresh look. LaMalfa has been out of office for 2 years and I think he has a better look at what is happening in Sacramento. This is not about party politics as that has gotten us into the budget mess. It is about making decisions that we can afford and not tax Califonians into poverty. Government has never created a long lasting job and never will. We need elected officals that will stimulate the private sector to grow jobs and prosperity for all. We need to look at ALL the rules and regulations that were passed during the last 10 years and ask if they are essential for job growth. If not, then repeal them. First to come to mind is the CARB rules that are killing jobs in California. We are all for clean air, but at this price, no one can afford to live here. Place a moritorim on some of these CARB rules until the technology has caught up with the rules. Hanging expensive filters on exhast pipes does not clean up the air, it just makes some former CARB officials get rich.

Like Mike says, vote for someone new that will clean up this mess.

I am with you. Vote for no incumbent. We can't possibly do much worse than what we already have. Get some new people with new ideas, cause the old ideas ain't workin' no mo. LaMalfa is the main person we need out. He has made himself and this county as well as the state look bad for many years. His last debacle at the "tea party" was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Agreed.

It's a republican primary so this June only a republican will win. That does not mean that the winner has to be an idiot who doesn't speak in complete sentences and is incapable of verbally expressing coherent thought.

California is on the Cliff-Edge of disaster. In a dictatorship the Governor would, alone, make or break the economic engine of that once great state, that at one time had a county, Orange, that was in the top 15 economies of the world.

The Legislative branch is the infection that will become terminal (Uncle Sam will become the owner by default). The 4 largest urban centers control the legislative branch. The current 'District' boundaries are, under current law, unbreachable-impervious to "ballot box citizenship". Marking the 'X' in a box will not change the political power of centralized government.

In the past 80 years, centralized political power has taken control of CA. The only corrective medicine, long term, is for the PEOPLE to retake Local Government. Radical reductive surgery of the National obese machine.

Perpetual 'ear marks, pork, and legal graft' GRANTS to Education, not with this year’s revenue, but next years and the 3rd incoming year. The Carrot Stick has created what CA is today. This is also the problem of most states near bankruptcy. Waiting for the next hand-out from the welfare King each month(quarters).

Businesses are leaving California at an alarming rate. Only the very largest Corporations have the ability to pass on the tax/property/environmental burdens to their consumers. The largest business in that state is Government-State, Local, and City. Unsustainable.

The Policy makers are the cancer. If Local government persons support the Policy of Tax and spend, or the other side, Tax cut and spend, vote them out. Common Sense is not learned in a University.

Republicans like LaMalfa are the reason CSU Chico's budget is being decimated. Students are being charged more more and more tuition, staff and instructors are being laid off, there has been an all-out assualt on higher education in California for the last few years, due in large part to right-wing kooks like LaMalfa. All Republicans like LaMalfa care about is tax cuts for the rich, and building more prisons, which is bleeing state budgets. I say no to LaMalfa, he's a right wing nut case. It's time North Staters got wise and started send Democrats to Sacramento/

Are you serious? The Dems are and have been in control for many years. They are the ones that are raising taxes and tuition fees. Don't vote for ANY party, vote for the person that makes the most sense and hold them to it.

The Democrats are the reason that this state is in such trouble. They just can't stop spending and they have never seen a tax they don't like. I have met LaMalfa and he is just an all around nice guy. He is a farmer who wants to help our state get out of the mess it is in. He is not a full time politician. When this country was set up, it was meant to be governed by ordinarily people that would just serve the country part time and then go back to there home town. The corrupt politicians that run our country and state need to go away and let real people, businessmen, farmers, office and factory workers have a chance to straighten things our. Heck, any ordinary housewife could do a better job with the budget. They know how to avoid spending more then comes in.

Seriously, you think that more of the same will make it better? Put a democratic member in the 4th Senate seat and there will be nothing stopping the Party that has been in control since the 1960s, thus the ones who got us into this mess, from doing anything they want. Heck, we could even give them back Jerry Brown to sign everything they put on the governor's desk into law.

It is time to get rid of all Democrats and Republicans and especially Dolan, and I know someone that is going to run against her and his record is so squeaky clean, even Bob Muholland won't be able to find the mud, and if he attacks the guy, Dolan will lose every Veteran vote in the her District.

Good old Doug LaMalfa was so effective at getting things straighten out from his 6 years [2002 -2008] in the Assembly that we should now send him to the Senate???? We know what a great job he did because the state turned and got back on the right track during that time. Doug and his buddy Arnold have done a fabulous job, just ask them.

LaMalfa has a great economic stimulus program for Northern California families - he's going to encourage them to become taxpayer subsidy taking rice farmers like him so they can all get free government tax dollars like he does. He's made millions of taxpayer dollars over the years and now he's ready to share his road to subsidized wealth with you! Why shouldn't everybody get on the gravy train? After all, doesn't everybody deserve a bailout?

Don't forget to mention that he comes from a long line of welfare farmers. And he hires primarily Mexican labor, as do most all the farmers. Don't want those American citizens out here working on the property as they have civil rights.

During the last great opportunity to take advantage of a CRISIS, called DEPRESSION, the college system of California took a 50% pay cut. The reasoning was having a college short 50% of the teachers, or keep all and continue with education.

What is the largest single cost in the College system budget? This cost is why school is so expensive. The other is Monopoly status and no competition.

If I have a MA, lost my job, and found a new one trash collecting, to hold me over, would I be able to collect the MA pay that teachers get?

...and too self-absorbed to listen to what his/her constituants want. He only represents those who are of the same opinion as himself. No matter that there might be a majority who oppose his point of view. We need someone who will have an open door/email policy and will actually listen to the people who elect them to the office in the first place. LaMalfa has his head so far in the sand, he can't see or hear that some people have a different opinion on issues.
