Big Chico Creek Salmon

The project to rebuild the fish ladder upstream of Salmon Hole has been in the works since 2006. Built in the late 1950s, the ladder’s ability to help fish move upstream has diminished, both because of the structure’s degradation and poor performance in dry years.
Proponents have said the project is critical for preserving the spring- run salmon population, which now gets trapped in pools downstream of its holding and spawning habitat.
The number of salmon counted in the creek has been less than 10 for five out of the last six years, with the exception of 124 in 2011. Some years no salmon have been counted, and the peak in the last decade was 299 in 2006.
Why was the fish ladder set up in the middle of Park Ave.?

Even if you resolve the issues you’ve pointed out, predation by non -native species such as stripped bass, thermal pollution and the taking of most of the water for agricultural purposes, there never will be viable runs.

Yes, The Silver Plow located on Park Ave. could be used as a fish ladder to be help the salmon migrate up Big Chico Creek.

Hell, you'll should try the chi -com food sold at wally -mart, it's cheaper and better tasting than those salmon and the crap the local farmers produce with illegal workers.
Now that's funny!

Fish suck! I say sell the water south, drain the creek and build another freeway over the top of it! Toady has a point, chi-com imported food is tatier even though it may contain a few pollutants.
