Changing to a percentage gas tax the state is betting on much higher gas prices. Why the $100 alternative fuel fee? Dont get that one.

Leave it to the GA and Bobbie to screw up the transportation system...If the legislature and governor would just take the current fuel tax money, and use it for what it is intended, then this current bill would be totally unnecessary...
you cannot expect the highway fuel tax to pay for road construction and upkeep while at the same time funding any and everything a politician can think of....with the current proposal ...gasoline prices at the pump will sky rocket....only the very wealthy will be able to drive....

Raising the general sales tax to pay for transportation improvements is a dumb idea that only a politically compromised guv could push through a gop majority legislature.

"this legislation invests $3.5 billion in Virginia's transportation network over the next five years"

The sales tax increase won't go away after that five years, it will be misappropriated to fund everything else and northern VA traffic congestion will only get worse.

Where are all the right wing bobble heads this morning? The Republicans are raising taxes. Oh my...they lied to all you Beck loving teabaggers out there didn't they? Personally, I'm in favor of raising taxes. The Bush tax cuts, although nice, have put a hurting on this country. Question Bobble Heads...does Congress allow the budget cuts to take effect or not? I say let them take effect. Start with the defense budget cutting it to pieces. Cut the P out of everything. How about it Bobble Heads? Take a stand for once instead of letting your Republican loving Bobble Heads bob up, down & side to side so if things go wrong, you can blame it on the Democrats.

OH Gru & the rest of you bobble headed Republicans, where are you? My question has been standing for 3 hours. Let me make it simpler...massive spending cuts to everything resulting in major layoffs or continue to stimulate the economy? Has Bozo Bob-ble head created enough jobs to offset the layoffs due to defense spending cuts? I can still see those heads bobbing up and down, side to side because face it, Republicans blame everything on Obama and bobble heads are OK with that.
