I know that he doesn't even live in this town and He seems to think all of the council members work for him. I don't see how it is right that someone who doesn't live in this community decides how and when our tax money gets used. The mayor just agrees with whatever he says. I think it's time for Richmond to start working for Richmond.

I understand that our City Council of elected residents has the authority to hire the best City Administrator they can find to run the city. If they feel that he is not working to the betterment of our town, they have the authority to get a different leader. He was our Administrator several years ago, knows the infrastructure and personnel, and knows the laws / regulations that determine how a City can operate (laws of Missouri, regulations from about every agency that can regulate: EPA, DNR, MODOT, State Legislature, etc.
I also understand that it takes years of experience to attain the position of City Administrator, as well as the educational background.
As a citizen of our community, I appreciate the expertise of the current Administrator. He has only worked for the benefit of our city, balanced the budget, and is improving our infrastructure.
He also trys to be involved with the citizens, asks questions, and informs any group that asks him to make a presentation. That is also appreciated.
I guess that this thread has only one purpose: stir the pot and see who can try to shoot arrows at someone that is effective.

A citizen of the community or "CITY EMPLOYEE"?

Thanks for asking! I am not a city employee. I am also not a county employee. Just a member of the community, paying my taxes. I just get tired from reading about those in our town that want to make everything a 'them-versus-us','right-versus -wrong', or 'let's split the community by taking sides (because we think it is funny or we feel loyalty to one side or the other without knowing the truth)'. "I went to school with ____ and they were my friend once, so they must be supported".

For every argument there are usually more than two sides. Yours, theirs, and the truth. I seek truth, but cannot always find it.

So what your saying is, Richmond is good enough to work in and to pay your bills but its not good enough to live in? Doesn't he require certain employees to live in the city limits or a close proximity? This guy was a nightmare the last time he was here so why in the world was he re hired? He is the most unfriendly and unapproachable person at city hall.

What they are saying is that Richmond has no citizens that are smart enough to run the town, so we have to get this guy from Lees Summit to run our city, chamber of commerce, mushroom festival committee, HUD board, park board, planning and zoning, and whatever other groups he ramrods. I think the only groups in town he doesn't run are the school and the hospital, because they don't have any use for him.
