What is the story with the Hide Away Bar? I went in there for the first time and one of the school teachers is the bartender.

She has worked there for years. None of her students go there. She has a right to earn a living. Remember that teachers don't get paid well.

Then what is the story??

She has probably worked their longer than she has taught.

And what were you doing there if this is such a big story??

As you can see from my previous posts it was my first time there and I was just suprised. With all the cuts they have made to teachers I understand, it was just a little shocking.

True, they don't get paid well at all. Shows a bad influence on students, tho'. Very inappropriate! They should be a role model!

What is inappropriate about it? Who ever said it about you before was right. You are a hypocrite just like Ed Lee. Or is it just that you will disagree with Hmmm.... no matter what is said by he/she? Also hypocritical.

That's funny because ,if you will notice, Hmmm always disagrees with me! No, I'm not perfect and never claimed to be ,but if you think that I am being hypocritical then you have a right to your opinion. I don't think a teacher should be working in a bar. Doesn't look good......and we wonder why people have so many problems with their kids! If you're going to be a professional and work with kids then you need to be a role model. However, it's becoming a different world. People do strange things. It doesn't seem to matter anymore.

ok, so both of my kids have been through her class, and she is professional in every way. She has a teenage daughter in college and we as ADULTS should not put her down for her choice of after teacher hours time. Do not condemn her for that. If you should hold that against her then maybe we should hold against all the other teachers for what they do after hours too. I have seen other teachers in our district in public, some at bars, others at grown up parties. What they do in their private lives (even if learning a living) is none of our business!
