btw- Berning's decision had nothing to do with him putting food on his table. he was related to the attorney being discussed. last I checked Green wasn't related to the owners of Sonic, so I am sure he saw nothing wrong with what he did at the time. he saw an opportunity to WORK for a living during tough economic times. only people like you and the Daily Puke see it as a controversy.
That's all good that he works. My point is it changed the election and he should have seen it coming. The neighbors were already mad about the issue and I am sure they called the paper in to take the picture.

really? that's all your point was?? are you sure the neighbors called Sharkey to flash it on the front page?? he should have seen 'it coming' that by doing a hard days work he should be considered a part of a great conspiracy between him and the owners of Sonic??

and what happened to the following quotes by you:

"Believe it, they are for the people and not thier own self interests, such as Sonic's location,, Green on a Dozer.

Green is a user and John Dorton is smart enough not to be taken in.
The only good thing Lance Green did was piss the voters off with his arrogance and cause the last puppet council to be voted out!

I only need one and that's the voter. He is going down with the rest of you adoring patsies.

You really are fooled by the Lance. You and your liberal cronies can just go Green and follow your high priest,, Al Gore."

If you don't see a conflict of interest with Green riding on the dozer, doing dirt work on the new Sonic site, you are once again the idiot.
There is no conflict. He isn't on the boeard that approved the location, he didn't have a vote on the approval of the location. It has been reviewed by lawyers and by the ethics commission and there is no conflict. There is never going to be a conflict, no matter hwo many times you bring it up. You make yourself look ignorant.

My cause is to get you to realize what a dumb decision Lance made when he got on that dozer. The point is the election results may have been different had he not made himself a poster child of what not to do. A good Mayor would have known not to do that.

It's not about me getting him. I'm pointing out how that public display turned the vote against the past council. Get it? Jason Berning did the right thing when he abstained from voting on the city attourney. Being Mayor limits what work he can do outside of being Mayor. Public perception is important, even if it is wrong. That job site was a big controversy in this town and he should have avoided having any connection to it. Just common sense.
Again, the point is that it helped cost the last council the election.
So other councilmen who have voted on....say keeping water rates low when they use water to make the product they sell......where have you been for all of them? Now something that is actually legal and ethical is a huge mistake in your eyes, but have you been watching these council people over the last 20 years? Evidently not very closely.

It had no effect on the election. The mayor wasn't running for anything. What got several of these people elected was a very low turnout, and that was because people didn't think these candidates could win. What had an effect was people going out and doing favors for folks, and in return they got a vote. What had an effect was the big lie told by dsome of the candidates about what they would do with the water and sewer bills. What had an effect was people in the community who enjoy a reputation for being honest that they do not deserve who went around and knowingly spread terrible lies about some of the former council. The mayor didn't enter into it.

Yes, I think those quotes make my point. Maybe it's your head that's spinning. The proof will be when the voters vote again.

What's wrong there, Skippy? Did Lance not pay you enough attention in high school?

Gee. And I thought what changed the election of people who were not on the dozier was the high water and sewer rates that have yet to be addressed.

I'm sure SOMEBODY called Sharkey to take the picture, but I doubt it was any neighbor.

By the way, what ever happened to their attack dog Sharkey? Did anyone hear how his court date in Higginsville went?

of course the real problem with this comment is that the picture ran AFTER the local elections, so no, your false bravado that it changed the election is a farce, and nothing but crap. it is nothing but worthless attacks on Green. you could try getting your facts straight before you make claims about your political expertise.

and as it is pointed out above. the current council was elected over water/sewer issues - how they are going to fix it without raising rates. which they - along with their followers continue to skip around.

but you and Norton can keep spinning crap on here. hopefully no one is paying attention to it.

Are you talking about Donnie Fowler? He has to be one of the largest users of water in Richmond. I wondered why he was allowed to vote on water and sewer rates. Stanley and Bond, this is an example of when you are supposed to abstain from voting.

except some of us like to use factual information, and not make stuff up all the time. like the guy above who says the reason the past council was voted out was because Green was doing a hard days work riding a dozer, even though that picture came out after the elections. and you claiming Tammy started her paper for political reasons. no basis whatsoever, but you and your buddies can just keep spinning.

Not defending anyone here but I want you to know that the picture was actually run about this time last year. So this would have been before the elections though I still don't believe it had anything to do with the outcome. I believe that the newly elected officials did try and attack the Mayor and others to win votes. I also know that they spent most of their campaigns promising lowering rates. Of course this is not going to happen. Since it is not going to happen, they are going to try and confuse the issues by deception. Almost like a magaician and the slight of hand tricks.

I give you credit for setting the record straight on the photo especially since you and the person who disputed the fact agree on most issues and spend alot of time trying to discredit the daily news. To bad you did not stop there. Is it truly an attack on someone your running against when your campaigning against an opponent, or simply debating the issues, all sides do it. As to the water rates, some of you continue to insist that the folks that got elected promised lower rates on water and sewer, Who promised that and in what context, during a debate, in an ad, in the newpaper debate, I don't remember that happening, though I do remember several stating that they would fight against any further increases, I'm wondering who is trying to be deceptive.

Well, while you are on the issue of who said what during the last election, I wonder if you might know who went about town telling people that Scott Marshall was fired from the bank, and that he was stealing money from the bank, and that he was having an affair. Do you want to talk about who was spreading those lies during the last election? What good, honest, upstanding Christian man did that?
