Lowes is a great place to work. You may get hired s seasonal but if you are a good worker you can get full time. They have great benefits. Talk to people that have retired from there and they will tell you they are in great shape because of how Lowes contributes to their 401 k. You have the option of buying the stock also. Good place as far as financially. Please do not encourage people not to work. Enough do that on their own.

Are you serious? I know people who are hard workers that are a little older, and they are crapped on because they aren't young. Lowes is slowly losing their money. Did you hear about how they fired thousands of people just so they could do a technology upgrade? McDonald's treats their employees better than lowes. Lowes does offer stock, but in the past 10-20 years the stock has remained the same, no money is to be made there. They will not make you full time, people fight for that spot for years. They don't want to have to pay benefits. If you aren't in the know with someone you aren't going to get far, more than likely a cashier. Also, where they are getting a new technology upgrade, they are threatening to terminate any of those who don't get it, meaning those who can't work the new iPhones and computers. Lowes is the worst place to work, trust me. Just because they are hiring, don't fall victim to their empty promises. And just because they say they will do all this stuff for you, don't listen, cause in the end it's a corporate business, and they are just trying to line their pockets with money.

Btw, lowes use to be a great place, so I'm sure that those who did retire from there are happy, but it isn't anymore. Did you know that if you have someone die in your family that if you call in, they can and will fire you for that? Did you know that if you have an accident, and can't make it to work they will fire you? Obviously you didn't, or you won't be promoting them.

so many people say they cant find a jo, at least it would be a paycheck. If I did not have a job I would pick up cans and recycle before i would sit on my butt. beats nothing.

I agree that everyone needs to work, I'm just saying that lowes is not the place. You would get treated better picking the cans off the street than at lowes. I find it sad, but it's true

Thats a crock. I have worked at lowes for over four years, yes,a lot has changed, but HELLO, times are changing, and any business savvy corporation understands that they must adapt to the technology of today in order to better serve their customers. as far as them firing you for a funeral, thats completely false. They will give you bereavement days, trust me,i have had to attend 3 funerals in the past two years alone. Before you jump to conclusions maybe you should re-evaluate YOURSELF and your work ethic. Usually it takes something pretty serious to get fired, they are very understanding with people who are GOOD EMPLOYEES....i encourage anyone and everyone to apply,it is a great place to work:)

I like to poop at Lowes. Their Pooper is pretty clean there. I find it a happy place to sit and reflect on my day. Speaking of which, I think I'll drive by there right now and drop off a load.

Lowe's is able to hire so many because they cut pay to the people who work full time. shameful. It used to be a awesome place to work and retire from, but not now.

Purchased display of fountain on 10/5/13. When I was purchasing it another customer wanted the same one. Clerk whispered to her she would sell new one to her at same price. 2 young men took it to my vehicle and one of them dropped the base and the other said I hope it didn't break and he said it didn't . When I got home and put it in the garage base was broke. I brought it back the next day return it and manager would not honor the price I paid and I also told him the story. Our family is a big customer at lowes. Since they have double standards we will not be shopping Lowes. We will have to start shopping Menards.10
How about contacting corporate or the store manager instead of bickering and complaining on Topix? I seriously doubt anyone from Lowes will see your post. If you want to be done right, bark up the right tree. To be perfectly honest, the manager who failed to honor a price that was on your receipt must be an idiot. I'm sure management would want to hear about someone like that anyway. Just keepin it real folks.
