I know Gordon Lunceford. I was in his youth group at FBC from 91 - 93, the time this happened. He did flirt with the girls. I saw it with my own eyes. I know the girl he molested. She is not a liar, nor is she hard up for money. I believe Gordon is guilty. Just because you didn't get raped by him doesn't mean he's this great God fearing man. He said things and did things back then that even made me uncomfortable. People said Ted Bundy was a great guy too. Don't judge people when you don't know what you're talking about in the first place.

I was in his youth group too. I know how he was and that was a father figure to all of us. I think that girl that accused him is a liar. Trust me I know what I'm talking abt. She was pregnant and any to have a baby when this all happened. She had her friend call the church secretary of where I went to church to ask questions abt him. She should rot in he'll for the lies that she told that could have ruined this mans life

"Former Youth Member": No one can take anyone seriously who claims to have been a "very VERY VERRRRRRRRRRRY attractive teenage girl". You come across as having no credibility.

For those of you saying there is no way Mr. Lunceford could have done anything wrong, you have to know that plea deals are done that appear to minimize the impact of the crime, but in reality pale in comparison. He may indeed have been guilty of all of the counts, but only admitted to one as part of the deal. All we know for sure is that he pled guilty.

You really have zero idea what you're talking about. I knew Gordon, and I knew the girl who accussed him. She was not pregnant. So either you are making things up, or you are just that damn stupid. Which is it?

You clearly have no understanding of our legal system. Everyone says that until they get into the system. In business, the odds are always in favor of the party with the most money. The same is true in civil cases. In criminal cases, the plaintiff is represented by the DA and hence has the full financial resources of the government behind their case. Defending yourself is expensive and inherently risky. The jury is made up of average citizens, who these days on average are none too smart and overly opinionated and pre-disposed to their own belief systems.
I have never been in a criminal case, thank god, but I owned a business and was sued by a larger company that basically had no case. After paying over $100,000 in legal fees, having all the charges dismissed as frivolous by a judge, the company re-filed a whole new set of spurious charges. Rather than spend another $100,000 defending myself, I asked my lawyer to find out what they wanted to stop the never ending legal battle. A signed statement saying that I had engagaged in unfair business practice (I hired one of their key people), and a check for $10,000.
I held my nose, admitted that I did something that I had in fact not done, and wrote the bastards a check. It made me sick to my stomach. But it was a smart business decision.
The stakes are even higher when criminal charges are hanging over your head. I don't blame anyone for taking a deal. Depending on 12 random people to determine my fate for a significant number of years is not a risk I would take in our shitty broken system.
We need a loser pays provision in civil cases and psychological testing of jurors before they are seated in criminal trials. Then I might agree with you that you should fight to the death if you know you are right.

To straighten things out, Mr. Lunceford plead guilty and was charge with a felony. There is no need to prove how I know, but I witnessed it all.

That is a damn lie! If he was a convicted felon he would not have a job with the city or any other government agency.

The Curry boys were both convicted of felonies and both are county employees. One at the fire dept. and the other at the road dept. All you have to do is have your father be in charge at the Co. road dept.
