Agreed. I was a member of one of the youth groups Gordon Lunceford was the minister for, for SEVERAL years. I was a very VERY VERRRRRRRRRRRY attractive teenage girl, and he NEVER looked my direction twice unless it was to minister to me as a christian. He was a very good looking, athletic twenty-something young man. He was a charming and ABSOLUTELY hilarious guy, very easy to fall completely in love with, but no matter how many of the youth girls flirted with him, he was nothing more than a minister and a very devoted christian.... he even bordered on being rude toward the attention of the teen girls that DID flirt. I specifically remember thinking he was a strong person for giving them no attention. And believe me, with the raging hormones that go on with teenage girls that want attention from a good looking guy, not to mention a LEADER....church or not, that was a SERIOUS task for a young man of that age. What is that thing called where you fall in love with your "counselor"?? I would say, if anyone is guilty of anything, it would be the young girls that looked up to him, causing him issues now. Honestly, maybe it should be a requirement that if you are charming, funny and gorgeous, you cannot minister to teenage girls because they will fall completely in love with you and then ruin your life if you do not reciprocate.

No, it was NOT Mr. Lunceford. I AM a prior member of one of his youth groups. I was from age 13-17. I am now 38, still living in Frankfort, and Mr. Lunceford has my FULL support.

PS... I meant to call myself "previous youth member", not "former"... just so you understand the same person is responding to you questioning if that was Mr. Lunceford posting those comments....

I know if a situation where Mr. Lunceford acted inappropriately with a post-youth group girl. But I guess he can't go to jail for just cheating in his wife.

You "know" of it? Does this mean you "heard" something? Or did you see them kissing or something?

First, previous in Frankfort needs to wake up. Sexual predators don't just go for the verrryy attractive ones, it about the one they can manipulate the best. That is a very arrogant thing to say. What outrages me more is that you blame the victims, "causing him issues" Helloo! I don't care if George Clooney is the youth minister, they are young and niave and when a leader does semething like this it breaks their trust. That is liek saying that a woman wanted to be raped. Unacceptable! I pray that it never happens to your daugther.
Second, I was in Gordon's youth group at the alleged time of the encounters. While he never made a pass at me (I have too much of a temper) there were things that me make me suspicious now. He had his group of favorites, and there often long talks and walks at youth camp that were odd. Gordon always had his flaws, pride and lust. It saddens me to think that he could have done this but it is possible. We should keep his family in our prayers.

No one is questioning the definition of "sexual predator". So, now we all know that YOU know the definition of "sexual predator" and that you think I am arrogant, but what I am talking about is a person I knew very well. As far as a person you can manipulate, I could easily have been that. I ABSOLUTELY had a crush on Gordon Lunceford and he never gave an obvious crush ANY attention. AND...Arrogant? No, not really, I was just super gorgeous. I wouldn't normally say that about myself to people, but it lends to the story here. Anyway, so what if I am arrogant? That has nothing to do with my little story or opinion. I stand by what I said. Oh, and thanks for the well wishes. I hope that never happens to your children either (why people say stuff like that is beyond me by the way... I guess we just mark it up to being a smart ass).

Thankfully all the charges exceopt one have been dropped and rightfully so. He will plead guilty to the lesser charge. Once again I am here to tell you that I am positive that any accusations were a lie and shame on that girl. I was questioned by the detective and everything.

so, he is pleading guilty to the one count of second-degree sex abuse? In other words, he may have hugged her incorrectly. Class A Misdemeanor Up to 12 months imprisonment and/or fine up to $500. Let's hope he is able to simply pay the fine.

DEAR "YEAH RIGHT"... of course it is a plea bargain. Don't sound so surprised. Any human guilty or not guilty is going to attempt to take the safest road to get through a storm like this. When you are facing technicalities and juries and women who can just as easily lie as breath.... If I were COMPLETELY INNOCENT OF EVERYTHING... I would do the same.

i would fight with every fiber of my being if i was completely innocent. plus you stated early on he had your full support, yet you do not know all the facts the authorities have collected. I am only reacting to the fact that, according to a previous post, he is going to plead GUILTY.

Oh, you would not. You watch too many movies (and I am not trying to be catty. I mean that respectfully). It would be completely unrealistic. Almost ALL the charges were dropped, which is saying it is possible that the prosecution would not even be able to prove it. It's the same as saying "never mind, you didn't do those things".

You would not put yourself on COMPLETE DISPLAY in a court room to act like a fool trying to prove something when you could end up in prison for the remainder of your years, ESPECIALLY when all but one charge was being dropped. Not if an attorney told you that if it goes to trial you may end up with years in prison locked in a cell, or you can just avoid all of that and take the offer.

The man is around 50 years old for heaven's sake. It could mean spending the remainder of his life in prison.

As far as what I know: Clearly, authorities found enough HEAR-SAY to arrest him, or they would not have arrested him. I DON'T NEED TO KNOW what they found. All people are INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. The charges were dropped... which means the prosecutor found it would be difficult or NOT HARDLY PROVABLE! This is why they make these types of offers. It takes up state/city time and resources to send someone to trial and if they are not guaranteed to prove guilt, it is a massive waist of government resources.

Any time there is a situation like this, where there is a minor involved, regardless of it being a lie or truth, there is an arrest made. It's kind of like when someone decides to go get an EPO on someone. All they have to do is say they feel endangered, regardless of the situation. Lie or truth, forever and the rest of your days, you have an EMERGENCY PROTECTIVE ORDER on your record haunting you. Even if you did NOTHING.

So I do not have to repeat myself, just re-read all the stuff said earlier by me and by "previous youth member"

I will say again, he has my COMPLETE support.

Having worked with Gordon for many years I can say there is no doubt in my mind that he is innocent. I believe the only reason he took the plea was because of the emotional and financial stress this has put on his family. It just shows that no matter how much you help people there are always some small minded people out to get you.
