Why did they name this school Michael Caudill? Was he not the superintendent that lost nearly $100 million. Why don't they name a school after notable dignitaries anymore?

The last 2 new schools have been named after former superintendents, Berea has Shannon Johnson elementary, like we really needed another school named after a pioneer, does anyone really care what the schools are named after?

How about a Russell Roberts School? He did more than Caudill and Marshall combined. Or, how about a Raymond Ross school? Or, how many know that former Govs of Kentucky called Madison Co. Home? That there is a US Supreme Court Justice from Richmond. How many children know that the fight to end slavery was led by Cassius Clay; who lobbied Lincoln to free the slave and when Lincoln charged him to go to the Kentucky General Assembly and report back on the mood of such a Proclamation.

Because a majority of Richmond's past and its affluent were Confederate Racists. With the exception of the emancipationist, there's not too much to be proud of, unless you think prohibition was a good movement (which started in Richmond, Ky.).

Michael Caudill was a good man and an inspiration to many. H eloved his family, his community, and the children he served dearly. He battled cancer, carried the Olympic Torch, and was our own Lance Armstrong. There are very few people in public office in Richmond that you can be proud of as a person and a professional. Michael Caudill earned our respect. His name does not belong on this website at all.

Yes, Caudill was a fine man and throughout his long illness fought it bravely and never wimpered that I'm aware of, not that I would have thought any less of him if he had. As decent a person as there's been. I laughed out loud at the poster who asked the question about whether someone really wanted a school named after Raymond Ross, and I'm still laughing. That's great. The Raymond Ross Alternative School. How about that one?

I agree Mike was a great guy. He always had a smile on his face and he was always all about what he could do to help the students in Madison County Schools. I think naming the new school after him was a great tribute. The students of Madison County lost a great friend when Mike passed away.

there has probably never been a nicer guy than Mike and I feel that it is a honor to name the school after him. Parents liked him as well as students.
