They found Angela's body in a field, finally, after looking for her for a few days when it was discovered her car was left burned on I-75. Jason was arrested in Somerset after holding 6 people hostage.

A Madison County woman who was found dead Wednesday in a Madison County field, argued with her husband Sunday night about another woman, state police said Friday.

After arguing about the situation with her husband, Jason Edward Singleton, Angela, 25, left the couple's Forrest Hills Drive home, Trooper Chris Lanham said Friday. Later that night, Angela's Nissan Altima was found burning on the northbound side of Interstate 75 at the 101 mile marker in Fayette County. Only the engine compartment had burned, so investigators did not think there was anything suspicious, Lanham said. Angela Singleton, who was a dancer at a Lexington strip club, was reported missing by her mother on Monday night.

"Initially we didn't suspect any foul play early on because she had left with a friend," Lanham said. "There was no violence. It was strictly an argument. Apparently, Singleton had moved another woman into his residence, and that's what set this off with her....When she left with a friend, the immediate danger was not there. That's why the comment was made that we didn't suspect foul play."

Then, on Wednesday afternoon, a farmer discovered a body in a field off Tattlers Branch Road near Valley View in western Madison County.

Now, police are investigating Angela Singleton's death as a homicide. State police have questioned Jason Singleton, 34, about his wife, but he has not been charged. Investigators are waiting for a report from the state medical examiner. That report could come Friday, said Madison County Deputy Sheriff Willard Reardon.

Angela Singleton's car is in the custody of a Lexington towing service.

State police are assisting in the processing of the Singleton home on Forest Hills Drive, Lanham said.

Jason Singleton was taken into police custody Thursday in Somerset after a series of odd events at a trucking company, including taking four hostages for about 15 minutes and holding them at gunpoint.

Singleton allegedly had a gun at the Somerset Mall, then stole a car and attempted to flee after police were called, but wrecked the car.

Police spotted him in the parking lot of a trucking company, but he ran inside and allegedly held four people hostage at gunpoint for about 15 minutes before surrendering.

A mall security guard said Singleton seemed jumpy on Thursday before his confrontation with police. The guard told his supervisor, Tony DePrato, that at one point Singleton called a woman on his cell phone and said something to the effect of, "No matter what happens, remember I love you," DePrato said.

Jason Singleton is charged with four counts of wanton endangerment, four counts of unlawful imprisonment, disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, car theft and criminal mischief. District Judge Jeffrey Scott Lawless entered a not guilty plea for Singleton during an arraignment Friday morning in Pulaski District Court.

Jason Singleton was being held at the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. If he posts bond, he will be placed on house arrest and monitored electronically, Lawless said.

Singleton first said he planned to hire an attorney, but then asked about having one appointed for him at public expense.

He told the judge he owns a home but it is in foreclosure and he owes more on the property than it is worth.

Lawless scheduled another hearing for Singleton on Jan. 26

Jason Singleton declined a reporter's request for an interview.

Lanham and Reardon could not say when or if Singleton will be brought to Madison County.

"It just depends on whether there are charges in Madison County on him," Lanham said. "He'll have to be arraigned on the charges in Pulaski County, and if there are charges in Madison County, he'll be transported" there for arraignment.

This is a huge case. and for you to make statements that you do not know for a fact you are putting yourself at risk. I will print this for our attorneys. you will be traced. beware what you say about someone who has been brutally murdered for NO reason. this girl has 2 children and had no reason to die. and i know these accusations you are throwing around about her are FALSE.

Yes he worked at Lexmark and then ACS. He was originally married to a Filipina lady.. Ann Singleton, but they divorced. I think Jason also has a daughter out of wedlock previous to his marriage to Ann.

Speechless is right!
