if the sponsor and the selection weren't almost exclusively and ridiculously country, i would consider giving it a try. i love karaoke, but i loathe most country music. to each their own, though, and best of luck to those with a taste for it.

Are u sure u looked through the music? I saw a ton of rock and rap and soul and all kinds of different music. I will be there tomorrow.

They have a some other music, but percentage wise, very country heavy. And given the region and the sponsor, it's not a surprise. It's what most people in these parts want to sing/here. And there are some very talented performers around here that do that type of music plenty of justice, too.

Last time I gave their books a gander, they had a representative smattering of classic rock and pop rap/hip-hop/r&b selections, but several popular, progressive and non-classic milestone non-country songs I looked for we're nowhere to be found.

I SOOO wish I could figure out how to burn my own karaoke discs... Just not tech saavy enough, I suppose. Be nice to be able to bring my own selections, even if the crowd, the judges, and the sponsor would shun it.
