This has to be the worst hospital ever the doctors in the ER have no compassion for the people that go there. I had a sever allergic reaction to new med that my family doctor put me on. I throat became very sore and irritated. i called my doctor and told my doctor what was going on she tells me to go the hospital my throat could be swelling shut. I go there see a doctor my throat is just very sore the ER doctor told me that I could continue my meds if it helped with the problem it was prescribed there is always some bad with the good. So I was like whatever I continue taking the meds and doing the things the ER doctor tells me to alleviate my sore throat. In two days after following the PAC ER doctors instructions my throat felt like it was burning off I could not swallow with out horrible pain it was the worst throat pain I have ever felt. The pain was so bad I was at work I broke out in a sweat turned white due to the pain and my boss suggested that I may need to go cause I didnt look good. I went back to PAC around 8am the doctor came in I told her the story she had a new nurse scrape a swab around my throat to check me for strep I new I didnt have strep it was an allergic reaction I lay in the ER for 2 hours finally I see the ER doctor that was treating me I tel her that I cant stand my throat pain it was horrible she told me "well your going to have to stand it there is nothing we can do for a sore throat" I walked out and will never go back because I dont have to take that I went to another hospital they gave me antihistamines steriods and pain meds that made me comfortable and I no longer feel like im swallowing razer blades every time I swallow PAC is the poorest in patient satisfaction and in general I feel they dont give a shit about people.

They don't care either. This has been going on for years and you don't see them changing do you?

Central Baptist was suppose to of took over but its still poor health care at its finest I find it ridiculous that I have to spend 20 dollars in gas just to go to lexington to get help when there is a hospital in richmond

Central Baptist just made it worse. Came in and got rid of many people and brought in young, inexperienced people. I is about money in my opinion.

if you are not bleeding or have an infection from hell, you will not get pain meds from pac.they got those docs afraid to use thier own judgement, anymore.so unless you have a bone sticking out of your skin, and it is bleeding, and you have to be carried in on a stretcher, with an iv, and oxygen, with the coroner on stand-by,take 2 tylenol and a shot of whiskey and pray for sleep.

Central Baptist has ruined the local hospital by putting incompetent people in charge who have brought young inexperienced people from CB to run the departments. The ER is the worst it has been in years. I was there and some heavy girl with a big long pony tail, big teeth, and eyes I guess a nurse, gave me a shot in my arm and my arm has been red and painful ever since. I've heard horror stories from people in the last 6 months. I'm going to another hospital for my healthcare. Somebody told me they got some dumb bald guy in charge and two girls that don't have a clue. What happened to the place.

They had to get rid of those redneck, hillbilly types that had become comfortable and lazy.

Those redneck hillbilly types went to Berea, St. Joe's, UK and the University of Louisville. I know because I am one of them.

Good for you that place is going down the drain. They have people in charge that don't know what they are doing that's why all the good nurses have left. I know when the Cornelison lady and the tall dark hair girl were there it was much better.

Jill Cornelison was a wonderful administrator. She was born to be in the nursing profession and one of the finest nurses I have ever known. She wanted the best for patients and staff alike. When CB came in it became totally about the dollar. While young people bring vitality, looks, and charm they cannot know what it takes years to learn in health care but their salary is less so that is why it is done. To heck with patient care.

I am older and the work place is most unkind to higher salaries and the age factor. I have never been fired from a job, I left rather than loose my benefits like maximum vacation time, sick time and having to work all holidays. If I had stayed I probably would have been let go but I just got on out. What the public needs to know is that health care is now highly specialized. The person that delivers your baby is not familiar with the workings of an ER. Also, this is one profession where experience does mean a great deal. When a person is ill it enhances patient care if the person caring for them has experience. New graduates are wonderful but they simply do not have the experience of dealing with multiple life and death decisions. Health care is one place experience should be of value.

I also fell down the stairs while pregnant. I was worried that I may have hurt my baby so I went to the er thinking that they would check to make sure everything was ok with my baby. They weren't even worried about that, they just wanted to do an X-ray on me. I was afraid to allow an X-ray to be done so they sent me home. While I was waiting I overheard the dr talking to the man who was going to do my X-ray and he asked him what I expected him to do. Hello! I came there to make sure my baby was ok, I could care less about my ankle being sprained!

I too ask, what did you want him to do?
