Again, my point is not that the bid WAS awarded - I don't understand why it was posted in the paper AFTER the bid had ALREADY been awarded. It makes the city council look like they were covering their tracks.

Yeah I'm sure a specific plan exist for making contracts during emergency times, but I'm also sure that there were bigger concerns at the time than the guidelines on HOW to select repair and clean up crews.
Maybe you should ask the city's EMA director.

True. However, the easiest way to bust wrong activity is through the public records so why would you ever post false records. It would be a dead give away.
So you are saying that even without an ice storm the city would have sought to hire a contractor to clean up non-existent debris? Yeah that is dumb but the only other meaning I could get from your statement is that for an unrelated job they would also just hand it to the guy's relative? That is also just as dumb since that is pure speculation and would be directly against the rules if it were a non-emergency type of job.
I'm not going to say the council people are too bright, but lets face it YOU people voted them into office so I could say the same about all of you. I say "YOU" because I am registered still in my hometown, not here. These people were trying to do what everyone wanted and get the city back up and running as fast as possible. If you can do better then by all means run next time and don't vote the same people in again.
Yes and we all know they would never break the RULES right. FYI, I did not vote for any of these people, so yeah maybe I should run.

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Aries

It's difficult to know whether you're being realistic or gloomy today, especially when thinking about matters dear to your heart. For instance, you might be concerned about the welfare of a relative and wonder whether you're making mountains out of molehills. Do your best to remain cheerful and positive, not bogged down in nameless fears.
