I just want everyone to know what a piss poor job that Mr. Evans did at our house.

We paid for a yard clean up and have some trees trimmed. We had to go the doctor so we assumed he was an ethical person.

He was supposed to clean out the fence row and trim some trees. What he did was clip just a few branches and then he through them in the fence row! He didn't do any yard clean up. He allegedly sprayed some week killer in the fence row. If he did it was not effective at all.

He trimmed another tree but left some branches growing against and into other branches. According to my new tree trimmer, allowing this to continue can open the tree up to disease.

Several times Charlie stated that he would be here at a certain time but he was a no call no show. The last time he stated that he was at some important meeting about a moth or some other sort of insect.

He ended up charging my disabled mother over $800.00 for what I would estimate would be 2 hours of work at most.

While he may be the only certified arborist in Madison County, I wouldn't let him to any other work for me. He overcharges, is not punctual or does't show at all. He may be certified but I would never use his service again.

We called to let him know how we felt but he didn't even return the call. I suppose he was feeling guilty about treating someone that way.

You have been warned!

Thanks the complaint is on they way. However he is not a registered member of the BBB. Therefore it usually doesn't matter.

Word of mouth advertising is the best kind of advertising.

I had never heard of Topix before, which is why I'm now letting everyone know the kind of service we received.

I've also rated him on Yelp, Google, Facebook and anywhere else that I could think of.

I had them come out for an estimate to cut down two trees and trim a third about 3 years ago. I wasn't impressed and their quote was outrageous. I used A Professional Tree service in Lex (certified arborist) and was very happy with them. IMO, Evans has a lock on a lot of local contracts like EKU and they don't care about individual customers.
The BBB is a joke. I've even had BBB members tell me that when people file a complaint, they follow up if they want to or not. It's basically just a membership fee they pay to belong so that you find them if you're looking for a BBB certified business. It has no teeth to it at all.

Yes, he is very overprices. He's always talking about what a good Christian man he is.

I suppose he was book smart enough to pass the certification. Many times, the certification is just about the money to the certification agency.

I think that he is related to someone at the extension center as he is the ONLY one that they will a referral on.

Just because he is certified does not mean that he is honest or ethical or does a complete and thorough job.

He always hires people that are inexperienced to do the jobs. I have known 2 people who have worked there years back who didn't have any experience and both of the guys told me that he just put them to work without hardly any training. He can't keep workers and the few good ones he has had in the past either he fired or they got smart and quit.

Mr. Evans, I called you twice and you never returned our phone call. You showed up and had to borrow tools to do the job. You didn't do the job that you were hired to do. What you did do was piss poor. I had to redo the work that you supposedly completed.

You are a liar, and an unethical business person. I would never recommend you to anyone. Think of the last time that you charged someone $800 for about a thirty minute job that you didn't even complete. Or, do you do everyone that way?

Think about the last person that you cheated. You can call us. We have left messages. But the fact is, you will not make it right, you will not stand behind your work.

Everyone, I have told you about my negative experience with Evans Tree Service. Other people have voiced their opinion. Make your own decision but you have been warned about my personal experience.

Peeps...... Yard Services are all the same. When you hire doper trash, and that is what makes up the yard services, dopers that cannot hold down a real job, so they mow grass and cut trees.
Most are spot and steal operations that must be watched like a hawk.
Anytime you are forced to interact with this vermin, the worst can only result. Aviod them like the plague, and if you see them at a family members house, the best thing would be to take time to watch them like the thieves they are.

Be careful on this folks. I had a friend who lived in Salem, Indiana who had a tree trimmer move next to them. The next thing that you know, all of my friends pine trees and evergreens began dying from various tree diseases that the tree trimmer brought home with him. The tree trimmer was using wood that he cut in a external wood fired furnace system.

I never said that you were on drugs or didn't have insurance.

I just explained on what a very poor unprofessional job that you did and how you overcharged for it. We called and left messages and as usual you would't return the call. You were probably on an emergency bug conference or had a larger contract customer.

No sir, what you have done is purchased the best kind of advertising.....W0RD OF MOUTH. It's word of mouth advertising that doesn't cost a cent and is the most effective type of word of mouth.

I had to finish your job that you left undone. I had to clean out the fence row. I had to pay someone else to properly trim the trees.

It's too late for you to do the job correctly. If you didn't have the time to complete the job right the first time, do you really have time to do the job right the second time? I would never trust you to do another job for me. I have told all of my family and friends about my experience with you. I have put it on Topix and every other web review i could find.

Let the people decide. Maybe you can call some of your friends to put positive comments on here about you or make some up about yourself.

I would suggest that you do an honest day's work for an honest days pay. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Stand behind your work. Show up when you say you will. Return the customer's call. Don't overcharge for your work when you screw it up.

Good luck to you sir.
