Anybody else been approached by a woman, accompanied by a man in a red pickup, trying to pull the old "my daughter is in labor and I need gas money to get to Louisville" scam? She knocked on our door in Richmond, Saturday evening, Aug. 7.

I hope she stops by my house, cause I believe that any woman in this situation would surely give a blow job for 20 dollars if it helped her get where shes going.

So my answer would have to be, sure, I'll give you 20 dollars if you give me some head. If she refuses, I will close the door and call the police on her for running a scam.

Better yet if she says she will do it get the job and tell her to hit the road. What she going to do call the cops and tell them she pimped herself out then you didn't pay up?lol

How is he a scammer? He gets paid legitimately to carry his signs. I don't see why everyone always wants to pick on that man. He's one of the sweetest people ever!

First, he draws a dis ability check??? Second, He is advertising his signs where it is illegal by city codes, but they will not enforce it , but will give the business owners citations for road way advertising, Third, Is he paying taxes on his sideline business, and yes he is a scammer, Just ask the local lawn mower shops, how much money he has beat them out of and the tools he borrows and never returns.

Do like I do.....Will work for food? Offer them a chance to mow or pressure wash the deck and seal it, and you'll feed 'em. Or, better yet, just offer to feed them. Want gas? Offer to take them to the station.......it's amusing to watch them trip over themselves leaving or what kind of bullsh*t answer they come up w/. The legitimate ones will take you up on any help they can get, and I will gladly offer all I can.....the others just want money for booze, drugs, or like one poster pointed out.....probably make a helluva living panhandling.

I once offered a homeless man a cup o coffee one cold morning and he shoved me hard agianst a window and screamed in my face some of the most vile things I'd ever heard a person say. In retrospect, I suspect the poor fellow must be mentally ill.

I once picked up a female hitchiker (drunk) and she proceeded to ask me to give her a F#@! cigarette. When I couldn't fullfill that wish, she started pawing me, raising her voice and asking me to give her 15 bucks. I told her I only had ten and that was for my kids milk and cereal (boy, was I lying!) anyway she said "just give me the F#@! money"! I slammed on my breaks real hard, right in front of a bar, whereupon she seemed to sober up quite a bit. I reached over and opened the door and told her to exit the vehicle or I was going to snap her F#@! neck. She did the smart thing and took off.

Probably got fooled yesterday by a similar scam. As i was leaving my gym a guy drives up and pleads that he is from a neighbouring town and has run out of gas and maxxed out his credit card as well and if i could lend him enough $ so that he could drive home.
I asked him to drive to the local gas station, which he did and filled up 2 gallons.($8 worth).
Later on, i kept thinking that maybe i got scammed and on reading these posts, am sure i was.

I was coming out of Walmart, in Thompson, NY when a red pick up truck drove and parked about 4 spaces away from me while I was loading my pickup truck with dog food, She said: i am sorry to disturb you but my daughter called me I need money for gas to go and pick her up, she is stranded and Blah Blah Blah. I was confused and asked her: I am sorry, what kind of help do you need? And she said you can give me $10 for gas. I said: TRY SOMEONE ELSE! She looked at me like "how could you be so mean" in an effort to look hurt, but then her face changed and she jumped into the guys red pickup truck and went looking for another victim. I am so glad I read this, now I know for sure they were scammers.

Was at Mcdonalds couple weeks ago and a blonde headed lady was standing beside a white pickup truck and came over and told me her mom was in Pattie a clay hospital and she needed money to get back home to Lexington. I told her I did not have any to go ask the manager in McDonalds , she said she already did and he was rude to her. She continued to ask everyone that drove up and parked. Several gave her money. I stayed and watched to see and she took off and went toward downtown Richmond. I knew that was a scam. If I ever see her again I will tell her what a loser she is. There is a gas station right there. Obviously she did not need gas. She even told me she had 4 kids at home she had to get back to. So watch out for skanky blonde in old whit truck.

I just fell for this scam tonight. I was leaving Subway shop with my kids when a stranger approached me and said he didn't have enough money for gas, to get home with his family. He had a car at the gas station next door and there were 2 women in it. He had an elaborate story about how they had driven to Folsom prison to pick up his son who was to be let out today but got into trouble so they wouldn't let him go. Therefore, they didn't have the $100 release money to pay for gas.

Though I consider myself skeptical (asked why he didn't have credit card or AAA membership), I paid for the gas using my credit card. I refused to give him cash, but in retrospect, I was scammed. At first, I said oh well, I gave $40 for a likely scam, what harm is in that. Now, I realize after reading these posts, giving money just increases the chances the crime will be committed again.

I needed to set a better example for my kids.

Kevin
