How atrocious you are to basically name this victim, whom now EVERYONE will know who they are, and will be looked at, whispered about, etc. That was very classless, and tasteless and most certainly careless journalism. Shame on you and your editor. Saying the daughter of such and such, when such and such only has one daughter, basically gives the her name out to the entire community. Her family should sue you for the disclosure.

The article says:

"Batchelor and Smith are both charged with first-degree sexual abuse. If convicted, all three men face from one to five years in prison."

1 - 5 years for a *first degree* sexual abuse.

Then it says:

"Raymond Peel, 100 block of Dickerson Court, Lancaster, second-degree burglary. If convicted, Peel could serve up to 10 years in prison."

10 years for a *second degree* burglary!

Kentucky really needs to sort out their priorities when you give a sex offender a slap on the wrist and rank it as less offensive than a burglary.

good point. maybe instead of prosecuting a rapist for the rape, the victim should prosecute them for theft of his/her own body. i mean, that IS what happens...
Even then, 10 years isn't a long enough sentence. Not when you count in the theft of the persons mind, for the nightmares lasts for years...

I completely agree that the 3 men regarding the abuse cases got off light, and should be punished more harshly. I am somewhat connected to the Raymond Peel case, however, and without giving any details, feel obligated to say that he deserves whatever he gets. If he's convicted to 10 years, trust me, he's earned every second of that conviction. Beyond that, there's most likely more to the case than 2nd degree burglary, more than you posters are aware of. I can't go into detail here, for obvious reasons...but trust me, Raymond Peel deserves at LEAST 10 years. If he gets that maximum sentence, it's too good for him.

Anyone who sexual abuse a child dont need no jail time. This is my oponion but if anyone sexual abuses another human being ought to be taken in the fields and be beaten to practically(sp) death.

why on earth would people do this kind of a thing to a child?i dont believe in women sleeping with women or men with men.god saids there are 7 women to every man.that dont mean you can have all of them at once.but there are more woman than men.i think all these people that are gay ought to be punshied, that is hurting our children and us as parents that are trying to raise our children in the right way.

The people of the state need to bombard your law maker's until we the people make enough noise our children will never be safe, there's more money spent on protecting animals, birds, reptiles than abused women and children{please note i like critters just fine and don't believe in the mistreatment of them}but human's should be a priortiy, you would hope.abuse is ugly most are of the mind set to mind there own business. If we don't deal with it now the court system deals with it later trying to put shedded lives together that some prevert has torn apart. The sentence's for such crimes are a joke

So a child is not a human being in your eyes?

Do tell us then, what is a child?

Because of the idiotic answer that you posted, I am curious what you define as a human.

Remember,...your the one that said the quote above.

You might have meant that, however, the way you wrote it did not imply that.

"Anyone who sexual abuse a child dont need no jail time. This is my oponion but if anyone sexual abuses another human being ought to be taken in the fields and be beaten to practically(sp) death."

Anyone that sexually abuses a CHILD don't need jail time.

But, if anyone sexually abuses another human being....

Now do you understand why I looked at that oddly?

You may have meant differently, but reading that throw me off guard.

By the way...even an old fashioned ass whipping might be to good for these type of people.

I'm a firm believer in stringing them up in front of the courthouse... I think this would stop a lot of these sick people.

To sexually abuse an adult should be a death sentence. To sexually abuse a child one should be tortured before they are put to death. Just my opinion.
If everyone grasped and implemented your opinion I strongly believe we would see a drastic reduction in this sickest of crimes.
