As a child I lived in an old 2 story red brick house on Red House Road. There was a little white house that sit beside the main road were you turned down a dirt lane and crossed the creek to get to it. After you passed the creek you were at a spring which was the drinking water source. On up the bank was the home. The house was an old slave house. There was a dirt basement which still hd the chains and shackels that they tied them with. There was an old fireplace and aseperate smaller room in the back.About midway between Boonesboro swimming park and Richmond there is a big 2 story house (on the right if ur coming from Richmond way)This is red house road. the home sits next to railroad tracks. It used to be a pink color. But I think it has new brick on it now. I knew a family that owned the home and they told me that there were so many strange happenings going on there. I was told this a few years back. I don't know if this family still lives there. But I would like to know if anyone else has ever heard about weird things going on there.
The house had a side entrance and a front entrance. There was an old chicken house which had a slave cemetary all around it. There was a barn just out past the chicken house which was once an Indian burial ground.
This house is located on the left coming from richmond. There is an old store about 3 miles before you get to it and another old store about a mile or so past it. There was a lane that went past the house across the tracks to the owners farm. You could walk these tracks going toward boonsboro and you would come to an old rr bridge.
There are new owners now. Everyone thought the house was rebuilt but me and my husband went to see it a few years back and now there is a huge concrete bridge leading to it.The small white house was gone BUT We drove up to the brick house and it hadnt been rebuilt at all. It was painted a deep red and refurbished. There had also been a big garage or building built next to it were the chicken coop and slave cemetary once was.
I dont know if they have had any problems but when I lived there there were always relatives coming to stay with us to hunt or farm and everyone that stayed claimed to see, and here things. There were babies heard crying, women whelping and creeky stairs and voices. I saw a black shadow in the yard myself at the age of 8 and had nightmares the entire time we lived there.
After we moved some of my family moved in. They were there a short time as they were chased off. They were a male and female there on a rainy fall day. They were suddenly being taunted horribly. The male grabbed the female pulling her by the hand to the car to leave. Once in the car he started the engine and it blaszed afire from under the hood. They escaped the car and he drug her across the flooded creek never to return to the home.
This was the last I had heard of this house until I was 12. My dad then took us joyriding and we went to explore it. Once there it was the same as before. It wasnt as terrifyiong to us when we lived there. I felt at peace once back there. However, the day we were visiting the house we found it was abandoned once again. Whoever had lived there packed very few items and left the rest untouched as if they were also in a hurry to leave. Cobwebs and dust were everywere.
I dont know much about the old owner thought it seems as if my father said his name was Lloyd Mulligan or something. If anyone knows anything about this house please post your story I'd love to know if our family was the only people to have experiences there.
