Good hire?
Bad hire?
Wait and see?
The assistant positions are more important in my opinion as they deal more one on one with the students.

Something tells me Gary Fritz will be back for awhile.

If this is true this is the best hire. Should have been made years ago! Guarentee if Thomas is hired then Fritz will not be back.

It's true. Elmer Thomas is the principal and this is said to be a GREAT hire.

Assistants are
Angie Barnes - from last year
Laura Dedic - teacher at MC
Drew Muntz - outsider

Hopefully they can turn this school around.
Fritz will not be back.

Great hire for Madison Central...big loss for Boyle County. Welcome to Richmond, Mr. Thomas, and good luck. You have quite a challenge in front of you.

MCHS needs some consistent discipline policies. Kick a few out if needed. Good students should be rewarded for no referrals.

The addition of Mr. Thomas is wonderful news for Madison Central. I attended Central when he was a Spanish teacher in the building. He is a great teacher and I am guessing a greaat principal. This will be a great year for the kids at Central!

Elmer Thomas is a great administrator! He was assistant principal at my old high school. Very personable and really gets involved!

What happened to Gina Lakes and the others?

She got promoted to head principle my senior year, so I didn't really see any damage she did.
Just sayin

As a former student in the Madison County school district and a former student of Mr. Elmer Thomas- this is a wonderful move on their part! He is such a wonderful, Christian man, that the students are going to absolutely LOVE!! Although, I agree with another statement that Gary Fritz should come out of retirement! He's the best, and DOES NOT put up with ANY CRAP from all of the non-sense that goes on in the school system today! That's the bottom line of all of this- you HAVE to get someone in this system that is going to ENFORCE the school rules. It's a sad place, our entire society, the way our system has been taken over and CHILDREN are ALLOWED to speak to their teachers AND parents the way they do today!! The way things are, are exactly the reason I switched my major to get out of Education. I do not believe in abuse by any means- but I'm ALL FOR bringing the paddling system back into effect! My kids won't be starting school for a few more years, but the day I catch word from a teacher that they've talked back to a teacher or disrespected an authoritative figure- WOE BE UNTO THEM!!! They will WISH they had been paddled by the principal! I love my children more than life itself, but our society has gone to hell- and it all starts in the HOME! I feel really sad for our educators teaching in today's world simply because they have NO ground to stand on!! Prime example- a teacher broke up a fight my Senior year and was "accidently" shoved out of the way, and her back was BROKEN in the process. What happens, slap on the wrist, day of detention! Moral of the story, get someone who will stand up for our teachers, stand up for their students, and concentrate on EDUCATING and PREPARING these kids for a bright future. YAY FOR MR. THOMAS!!!! Madison County has made a WONDERFUL decision!!

Yes they have made a good choice. He will clean MC up in more than one way. Good luck to you Mr. Thomas. Keep your eyes open on your head custodian he likes to not work his hrs put still put them down that he did work them and some of the otheres do the same thing. All you have to do is sit back a watch you will catch them.

I'm glad to have him as a principal, my mom said he rocked :)
As a senior, I can tell you one thing... Ms. Bitch Barnes needs to learn a lesson on limits! My god, my girlfriend had a hole measuring 1 INCH (literally, i measured lol) next to her knee, and the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, she made her wear a new pair of pants!!!!!!!!!!
