There are many people who are boring in bed but are still loved and not cheated on, so that's a stupid thing to say.

While I'm glad people have hobbies and I understand talking on CB radios is one, I wish people would consider their neighbors before throwing up those huge towers inside city limits, in neighborhoods where the homes are somewhat close together. It's incredibly annoying to try to have a conversation on the phone and hear a neighbor who has turned their antenna around in your direction talking to their buddies over the person you are on the phone with. It's annoying to try to watch t.v. and have them bleeding through it as well, or to be using your computer and have them blaring through the speakers.

I have a neighbor who does all those things and after over a year of barely being able to use the phone, of not even being able to watch any t.v. it's frustrating. So please, if your hobby is CB radio.. be considerate of those who live in your neighborhood. We pay our phone/cable/internet bills, buy our phones, computers, and televisions.. only to be denied usage of the services we are entitled to as we DO have to pay money for them.

Really, you DON'T need to be running so much power that it takes to interfere with those electronics just to talk to someone a few blocks away. CB's do not good neighbors make, not if your actually denying your neighbors the use of their phones and what not.

Call the FCC, there are rules to operating a CB, sounds like someone is not running the 4 watts they are allowed. The FCC will issue tickets and take amps and such if they find an operator breaking the rules. There is also a height limit on towers. There you go....

The above post is correct.

Hey "Please", talk to your neighbor first and tell them their CB equipment is causing interference in your home. Give them a fair warning. It's his responsibility to make sure he's operating within the legal limits of his hobby.

Then, if he doesn't fix the problem, have the FCC fix it for him.

One thing to maybe help tide you over in the mean time...

Any electrical cords or wires you have on devices that are picking up his radiation - take those individual cords/wires and coil them a loop about 4" in diameter and tape them so they stay coiled. Just a couple of coils should be fine. This might help and it might not, but it's free.

Thanks for the advice, I've been trying to let things slide but as I said, well over a year later I still have to get off the phone when I can't hear the person I'm talking to over my neighbor on his CB. I gave up even trying to watch t.v. I really do get it that CBs are fun and all, I use to talk on one myself, just when the hobby begins to interfere with the neighbors lives and ways of communicating it becomes a problem.

Well that may be true, but something kept him here for 20 years. If I had wanted the opinion of a smart ass I would have just called and talked to him. I though there might be an intelligent adult on here, obviously not.

Nah you right and better off without him. But yes there's still people who talk our local channel is 2 but there's still the Super Bowl 6 and 27 and 28 stays pretty buisy.

Then catch them gone and push a pin through their coax, thats the cable going to the antenna. Push it through and break off the ends so it cannot be easily found. This will stop their radios from coming through decent peoples stuff.

Or better yet, go to a flee market and buy a mobile radio and antenna. Set the radio in your attic with the antenna sitting on it and tape the mike down. They will not talk if they cannot hear. You close carrier will stop them from receiving.

As for those piece of shit towers. Spring storms are coming and if you saw through a couple of the legs, the last will hold it in calm skys, but a small storm will mas that antenna into the ground.
