In 1997 the Federal Government instituted an financial incentive program whereby CPS is paid an incentive of 2-4 thousand dollars for every adoption that they procure. Additionally, an additional 2 thousand dollars is given for the adoption of special needs children. If CPS state wide adopts more children than they did the previous year they receive huge federal incentives to the tune of over 2 million dollars. CPS abuses have skyrocketed since this federal program was put in place. I challenge you, google "Senator Shaffer" and you will find that she was a huge advocate for parents rights and fought hard to end this federal marketing of children before she was murdered. Or log onto parentrights.org and get informed. Senator Shaffer founded parent rights before her demise. Supporters continue her work. Currently legislators have designed a bill that protects parents rights - if you want to support it log on to the site, read it and sign it electronically. Be active, not passive. KY parents need to show that they will stand up for their rights to parent and make decision for their own children without the involvement of CPS.

If parents would be PARENTS, there would be no problem! Quit blaming the "governement" for having to remove children! Blame the sorry lot that are hooked on drugs, alcohol, men, themselves, or whatever addiction that they may have that is endangering the children! Or do you want the number of fatalities to rise? Look at the statistics on that some time.

I think it's time people stood up FOR CPS and told these so-called parents IF YOU CANNOT RAISE YOUR CHILDREN, DO NOT HAVE THEM!!

School, I never said bad things does not happen in Foster Care, too. What I said was if parents would do their jobs, there would be no need for Foster Care! The first post is supporting completely disbanding CPS and allowing on the parents to have a say in a child's life. Look at it this way, how many kids have their own father sneaking into their beds? If we didn't have Foster Care and CPS to protect those kids, what would happen?

The petition for parents rights does not dis-ban CPS. Had you bothered to even investigate or look into the issue you would have been able to post an educated comment. The petition re-affirms a parents right to raise their child or children without the interference of the government in their everyday normal activities. The supreme court has upheld that a "FIT" parent has the right to manage their family without the interference of the government. A FIT parent, not a parent that has been declared unfit or convicted of abuse, neglect or worse. This right is in jeopardy. The United Nations has proposed the US sign a treaty establishing the rights of children world wide. While this treaty has its good points, the major point of contention is that it gives the Government the ultimate right to determine what is best for the Children, not the Parents. The government would have the power to determine what education, religion, etc. is best for the child. THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS. Signing this treaty would supersede the constitutional rights of parents. The petition, CRC 2010 is a petition supporting an Amendment to the Constitution that would prevent the US from signing any treaty that would take away the rights of parents in the US. As for CPS - you need to do your research, assuming that they have pure unbiased intentions is like saying that every person charged with a crime is guilty. CPS in Louisville have been criminally charged with FORCING the adoptions of hundreds of children for financial incentives. These are the children of families who cannot afford an attorney to fight for them. In Hardin county a woman was cleaning her house and CPS knocked on her door to "offer" her services. They saw an open bottle of bleach on her counter, accused her of neglect and took her 3 kids. She won the case in court and they retaliated by taking her attorney's child and the children of any family member who testified for her. These kids were put through hell due to some trumped up CPS accusations. Just recently a CPS worker blew the whistle in Louisville and told of many incidents like this one. One of the worst is when a family waiting to adopt a child saw a woman in public with 3 children. The woman was obviously not rich so she found out who she was, where she lived and then told CPS - these are the children I want. 3 months later, CPS made it happen. DO YOUR RESEARCH. CPS is corrupt - family courts are closed to the public. No statics, no documents are released to the public. CPS is not held accountable for their actions. In another incidence a Judge forced an adoption of a baby that belonged to a 19 year old girl. The mother was not even allowed in the courtroom as her rights were terminated an the adoption was secured. The baby went to a woman who worked in his office. The mother went to the press, someone volunteered legal representation and she finally did get her baby back. CPS aided the judge by filing bogus claims with the court.

I call bullshit on your story!I will guarantee that alot more was going on then just an open bleach bottle!!!When a child is put in Foster care the parents unless they have done something extremely awful have up to 22 months to get there lives together & regain custody. At that time if they have not met all requrments then the child will either be given prmanent custody to a relative or adopted!!Its not like the children are taken & adopted out within weeks sorry but that just doesnt happen. As a parent who has adopted through foster care, I believe these so called parents are given more rights then they should have. For u to be so bitter @ the CPS u must be one of the so called parents who have had there children took from them..

I have never heard such a load of bull in my LIFE! Nobody in this nation can just go pick out three childern, and CPS removes them. First, they have to have EVIDENCE of neglect, abuse or exploitation. Second, the Social Workers have to present this evidence to a JUDGE, who then decides to remove or let the kids stay. So you want us to believe that not only does the SW have a underhand agenda, but also a JUDGE? Think before you speak. I know you think getting CPS out of parents lives would lessen their burden. However, if that happens, the burden will be placed on the new caregivers: FUNERAL HOME DIRECTORS! Want to see a large spike in fatalities? Sign that bill.

And a "fit" parent does NOT have their PARENTAL RIGHTS TERMINATED because of abuse or neglect! Do you really want the person that molested the child to say where the child will reside? How about hanging a sign over the door "Molest your child here!" Abuse? I've seen the WORST OF THE WORST. I know, let's let the step parent that beats a child until they have brain damage decide for them! Neglect? When was the last time you saw a child filthy, crying, starved half too death? I've seen many. Let's let that sorry no-count mother who sells the food stamps for another pill to go up her nose have all the say in the caretaker of the children. No, those parents do NOT need rights. Their only right should be to a QUICK trial and 30 DAYS IN THE ELECTRIC CHAIR!!

Seriously, quit reading the forwarded emails you get. They are 100% garbage. You really think the United Nations is worrying about the foster care status of children in the US? They can't handle what goes on in all the 3rd World dumps int he rest of the world, they aren't going to sweat about kids in the richest country on Earth.

My husband and I have been married over 15 yrs. We have had problems with his parents and decided to not let them be around our children. They took us to court. We showed medical records stating it was not in our childrens best interest and that my mother in law has confusion as will as physical abuse of my husband and threats to shoot him. The judge gave my in laws unsupervised visits and has put my husband in jail because he refused to put our children in an unsafe position. She is now stating that she is going to have us both put in jail until my in laws have caught up on there visits. We are still fighting this but we our out of money. Can she put us both in jail and take our children even after she stated we are good parents

Unfortunately not all grandparents are good ones. If they would have been good to their own child they wouldn't be trying to make up for their own wrong.

if you keep your trampy legs closed and had a job and were married before you go squeezing one out every 15 months, this wouldn't be an issue.
