Anyone growing up in Richmond in 70's and 80's knew the best athelets came out of Madison High. The 72 football team was awsome with Velmar Miller at QB, MHS football was a treat to witness.
Many great basketball player during 60's and 70's; too many to name but Robert Brooks (Kentucky Mr. Basketball 1970), Kyle Brooks comes to mind and who could ever forget James "Tom Cat" Clay!

You can put him in any sport and he will excel, it's just a fact. Is he perfect, no, but he gives 110% at everything he does.

He got injured you idiot, just shows how much you know! He is still dealing with his injury. Take your sour grapes and jealousy and sit in the corner and sulk!

Wrong again, I am not his mother. Make sure you know what you are talking about before you spread your ignorance around. Jealous much?

Aaron Morris is the new legend. He does hold the most points scored throughout his 4 years.
Or any of the cheerleaders. They have won state for the past 3 years and placed top 3 in the nation. They are the true best athletes.
I must agree Morris has set the record or points scored n 4 years. But truly you are right the cheerleaders at MCHS are the real athletes. I think their season begins in May and they do not finish until after state tournament wraps up. They have won 5 state titles (I belive) and National championships.
Back in the day, the girls would compete during the district tournament with all the other Madison County schools. They were by far the best on any given night on the floor.

We keep mentioning guys, lets talk about the female athletes. I would say that currenlty the girl's basketball them is loaded with talent.
Look at the starters....You have Ashton Feldhaus who is a sophomore (I think) that is already past 6 foot and still growing.

No one has mentioned Renata Simmons, Natasha Miller, Jessica Stunson, Taria Daughtery. The best relay team Madison Central track and field has ever had. These girls had wheels!!!!

I agree with almost everything that you have said, except for your statement about Quis. I went to school during the same time period as you and have grown up with Quis. I highly disagree with your statement about whining and screwing! You were a few years older than he was, and I highly doubt you knew him on a personal level. If his knees had held up, and he didn't have the constant struggle with that- he wouldn't gone straight to the NBA with the rest of them! Agree completely with your other statements!!

First of all it was Huron, not Herron. I grew up with him and his brother Josh. Huron was intense, but I'm not sure anyone could say he was going to be Division 1 in anything. He wanted to hang out with the wrong crowd. And Kenneal "Neal" Jenkins was the biggest waste of talent I ever seen. He was far better then Marquis Estill and Marquis went to UK. He wanted to whine and screw too much. The best football player I played with was Derrick White. He could've been a real division 1 football player, but lord he just wasn't very intelligent. If you could've put Keenan Mcwhorter's heart in Neal, you would've had the best basketball/football player in Kentucky history.

Chris Minter was the last three sport star, all 4 years at Madison Central. No one have done it since. And he went on to play college football at a high level. Soon He'll be a football coach somewhere in Richmond.

It would have to be Jesse Ward. He single-handedly won the regional track meet for Madison Central in the early 60's.
