If you work at enersy and would sign a card and vote yes to the union please reply to this post. Think about the money they have taken from you the past year, no raise this year, raised insurance, took two paid days away from you, and on and on and on, you have no security w/o a union to bargain for you. They will tell you union dues are high, not near as expensive as the incentive you lost. Just yesterday the plant manager, Bobby, and Wayen came thru the Dept and took names of people, like an elementary school would do. The UAW told us to give them time, they would show their colors, looks like they have.

If you don't vote yes you will end up fired. People always think it can't happen to them but look around how many have you seen fired in the last year. All BIG EDD and Dennis have to do is single you out just like they have done before. You don't have to do anything they change the polices as they go to suit themselves. I have seen people fired and everyone knowing they were innocent of the trumped up charges and so have you. One thing a union would do is you would have a contract that they could not change anytime they wanted to. They would have to go by it or you have someone to stand up for you. The way it is now if you stand up for someone they find a reason to fire you also. At one time it was a good place to work but not after the 2 GOONS started picking on people. You have no JOB SECURITY the way it is now. If you don't stand up for yourself don't expect Edd and Dennis to do it for you. WAKE UP people do you want to let those 2 GOONS keep walking all over you.

You that want to work better think long and hard about bringing in another vote, remember when Albert laughed in Craig's face when he was coming down to announce an 8 milion expansion!
That didnt happen did it, only thing that done was bring down the wrath of corporate, then you thought you had gotten rid of Rulis, and got someone who cared, "Dennis", All he came down for was to play enforcer. Remember Bob Aaron who was smiling and kissing everyones ass! Now look at it, Its a dog eat dog place where even the staff are afraid to stand up for fear of "Dennis"
Each thing this man does, puts the plant one more step closer to the closing. They can't say "If you vote in a Union we will close our doors", but the ramifications of one will create more strife, and pit worker against worker, friend against friend, to the point you all are fighting each other and no one wins but DENNIS!
I say let him deal with his pizza partying girlfriend, his wife will handle him! That will put the monkey on his back. Take pictures of him with her (we all know who she is) the tall slinder one who did work in cables!

As for puppet ED Bauer, May he rot in hell for the lives he has destroyed by the tactics he uses to control the workers.

To those who want a Union just think about what happened last time it came up for a vote, how they brought outside people to interview the workers, and how it disappeared, and how the shit storm came afterwards! You do what you feel is right, but think of your family and friends, the current economy, and the lack of jobs.

Think of what you will gain or loose, then Vote yes or no! THEY WANT A UNION so they can shut the doors, the capacity is there to handle the Richmond production should it go union, they have wanted another vote so they can shut the doors! Do you want to let them get satisfaction of knowing they ran you off!

TO all those hard working individuals who strive to do what is right, kudos to you!

I will sign this with "Been there, done that, got a teeshirt, coat, and hat for it" and took all three to GoodWill for I didnt want to be seen advertising for Exide,Yuasa/Exide,Yuasa,Enersy s!!!

From the way it sounds, and knowing what I know about small-to-mid-size manufacturing and industrial trends for the past decade or so, I can only say that - IF a union is brought in, and IF enough of the sheep vote "yes" - well, let's just say I'm glad I don't depend on income from Enersys. Those that do: Enjoy it while it lasts, and as was said earlier, better update those resumes! Good luck.

Funny the hourly employees are not getting raises but management is getting large bonuses. Also, they have managers with no degrees getting paid ceo salaries. There bonus was more than I made in the last seven years working for them. Also, the company has larger profits than they have ever had. So maybe a union can get the employees that are being contaminated with lead a raise.
I see this poster's address is Sumter, South Carolina. I realize that some of these addresses float around, but I find it kind of ironic that the Enersys plant in Sumter shut down, ONLY because of the union. The employees in Sumter tried to get it decertified because the only thing the union was good for was taking UNION dues out of their paycheck. Most employees don't realize that to decertify a union, you can't get help from the company to decertify, the employees have to take the initiative to get it decertified (Union and Labor Relations Board Bylaws). By the way, we all got a raise. It just so happened that it started at the start of the new fiscal year, which makes sense instead of starting at the first of the calender year. We'll probably get another raise about this time next year, unless the economy tanks again. Be glad that you got anything, especially a GOOD JOB! Sure, changes have been made; but if we don't adapt to change, we're all going to be left behind. GO CATS!!!!

I agree Enersys should go Union maybe that would stop a lot of favoritism and all the tattling, lieing and backstabbing going on there.

the union is only as strong as the people. If the people stick together a union is a good thing if not it won't help. Dennis and Edd don't want to lose their jobs they only do what the people let them do. If people would stick together things would change but there are some who snuggle up to Dennis and Edd and tell on everyone. You know who they are do something about it. Unions will stop them from changing the rules to suit themselves. when they sign a contract they can't just change it. If you want to keep seeing people fired for trumped up charges then leave things the way they are. If having a union is so bad why don't Dennis and Edd want it. They know they can't get by with the crap they are doing now if a union comes in. I don't care if you have worked there 30 years you have no job security. Big Edd will find a reason to fire you if he decides he doesn't like you. Mess with DENNIS AND HIS GIRLFRIENDS and see how long you work there. Right now the only way to keep a job is take whatever they dish out and say nothing. Then you or some of your friends will still probably get fired.

EnerSys has a plant in Sumter, SC and the hourly employees did get a raise but the Managers at the Sumter plant recieved double bonuses this year which made the smallest bonus 50,000 to the mechanic and production supervisor. Ron Whetsel the HR Manager at the plant has a high school diploma with no degree and he got a 75,000 bonus on top of his 100,000 salary. Now, why was the hourly raises so small if the manager's got double bonuses and a raise on top of it?

The very day the Union is approved, you can pack your stuff. The plant is posed to move, and just waiting for a reason.

So vote in unemployement if you want to. But be prepaired to draw foodstamps.

If true the place will be closed in 2 years maybe yes. Unions do nothing but harm workplaces and their workers. If you need proof, look at the steel, car and education I industry.

Say no to unions or you will be sorry.

I hope y'all do vote a union in. I really do. Once a union tries to force the employer to do this or that, to pay this wage or implement that wage increase, then the conpany will fail to be profitable and competitive enough for the shareholders or the marketplace, the doors will close, you chumps won't be able to pay your internet bills, and this annoying f-ing thread will finally DIE!

You're probably right about the plant moving to Mexico or for that matter, a plant already built in Sumter, SC. that shut down because of a union if(and I doubt it) a union comes in. Where else in Richmond can employees make $17,$18+ an hour with good benefits(Mostly paid insurance by Enersys, GREAT INCENTIVE PAY-EXTRA $400-$800 if you perform over 100%) Sure, some people bitch about the working conditions in the factory, like I'm sure a lot of people bitch about working in factories. If you don't want to work in a factory, go elsewhere, please. McDonald's comes to mind(Wal-Mart?) Just do your job, get along with your fellow workers, do what your supervisor requires from you. It sucks? What's the alternative, DICK WAD?; UNEMPLOYMENT?
