That's interesting...I used to work for Vivint. The reps were taught by there leaders to do inappropriate things. They even award the reps they know do bad things...which encourages others to do the same. They have the reps sign paperwork to promise not to do those things but than teach them to after. It's smart legally to do that. I know a technician who was let go for informing the managers about illegal activities a rep was doing. It was ok if it was a low producer but once they found out it was one of their top producers they let the tech go.

Vivint was not bought out. They changed their name from Apx and did not replace any staff. I agree that the sales people are pushy and sometimes rude and will lie just get a sale. My husband is constantly fighting to get rid of those types of sales people (yes he works for Vivint). The majority of the staff at Vivint are good people and care about the customers. Just like in any industry there are shady sales people. They give any company a bad name.

Actually Vivint/APX is a horrible company to deal with. My 5 year contract is about to expire and I am so happy. The system that was installed in my home has NEVER worked. My home had an existing alarm system and I just wanted it to be monitored. Every door and window in the house and garage were monitored by the existing system. Vivint came in and disabled everything except for 3 doors in the house. Completely opposite of what was stated in the contract. I discovered this while the installers were preparing to leave. The salesman had already left. The installers refused to do anything about it stating that that was what they were told to do. I tried to call the salesman, but he would not answer his cell. Trying to contact the company was a joke as it was obvious that they didn't care. They offered to have someone come out at a charge of $70/hr to complete the install. Within a month, components began to fail. Now that I have called to notify them not to renew, they are trying to offer me free equipment and service. Horrible, horrible company. I will never do business with them again, and I warn everyone who reads this to avoid them.

they were very pushy on the phone when i called to COMPARE prices. i ended up getting a security package. the techs showed up the next day and told me i would get $400 of free equipment so i picked out what i wanted. then when they went to leave they said i owed $600 because they did a walk through and things totaled up. i called customer care who said they would reimburse me..still havent seen the money. i like the system, it seems to work nicely, and it allows me to sleep at ease at night, but im hoping to get my $600 back.

Basically yeah, they guy we had come into our home lied about a lot of things. Specifically he told us that if we ever moved Vivint would move our system to the new home at no charge. (We had been looking for a new home for a while and planning at that point to move eventually) The time came and I called them to have the system moved and they told me I had to pay a 99$ fee. They said I could wave the fee by signing another contract for 2 more years. Are you kidding me. No way would I ever recommend this company to anyone I know, ever. The monthly fee is also higher than agreed upon as well. If you do decide to go with this system make sure you read the whole contract including small print or you will find yourself pissed off and obligated to something you will regret. In reference to the elderly lady moved to a home earlier..yeah it does not matter what happens..You WILL pay for this system. Totally screwed in my opinion.

Yes, I was a vivint technician like the name says and no I would totally disagree with all the hate comments because vivint was probably not only the best "job" I will have but one of the most honest and respectable companies I will probably ever work for. Sorry to whoever for that "one" crappie "salesman" but trust me, they are legit. Sincerely, a former employee...

Vivint Tech, If Vivint is so honest and respectable why wouldn't they honor the contract I had with them or at least try to make things right after 5 years? Why would no one ever come out to my house after numerous calls and e-mails with out me having to pay a $70/hr charge? I even called to find out if I could buy out of my contract. Not have them cancel it, just pay it off and be done with it. The honest and respectable company said no. Now that the contract is about to expire, they want to make things right, only if I go with an upgraded package. And as for being honest and respectable, I don't believe you are a former employee. I think you are a current CSM or some type of management with Vivint. If you really are a former employee, why are you looking at these types of websites and protecting a place you don't even work for anymore?

I will say AGAIN .... They are NOT an honest company ... One of their Sales people ... Posed as me and cancelled my 87 ur old father's account with ADT ! He was gonna have to pay Vivint and rest of contract with ADT .
My father and I were on local news at 5 interviewed by ( 7 on ur side ) exposing this fraudulent company ! We were promised they would take their equipment out ... And they did @ 9 pm and pay to have ADT reinstalled ! We were left with 2 big holes in the wall and NO SYSTEM AT ALL ! End of Story

There has been a few companies in Kentucky that have resorted to scare tactics. Read the news. They were kicking in doors then showing up the next day and selling the living daylights out of their systems. I am very familiar with this company. Their systems are made by a company who sells similar models of home security devices at Walmart and other stores. Lol you all really got screwed. ADT offers the same set up for 35.99 a month. The equipment is made for ADT, and has a VERY good rep for being extremely reliable. Plus ADT employees and dealers have to be professional and do a grade A job. ADT doesn't take things lightly. Your best bet is an ADT dealer where you pay 35.99 a month and 99 dollars down. Much less cost and better service and equipment. Plus ADT has been around pretty much the longest or them all.
You are correct about 35.99 a month..........for a phone line system. Go ahead and throw your money down the toilet. You get what you pay for, because at that price a pair of scissors cutting your phone line outside of your house will disable your system. Great advice!!!!!

Sounds like you work for them. They have not won any awards. They were APx before vivint, and come company out of Colorado before that. The reason they have changed their name three times is due to their horrible business practices. Look them up under the BBB. They have a D. Not very good.

Hmm odd, if I recall vivint has numerous awards from Forbes and other reliable sources. Also I believe they have a a b+ on the BBB. Odd the things someone who knows nothing can spurt out just to have a false since of importance

I am dealing vivnt right now as we were broken into recently and I pressed the police button twice. My husband also called with cellophone minutes later. I later found out that my "police" button elicited no response. I found out the next day that it was NEVER enabled. A truly false sense of security is was i am paying monthly for. They are doing little in the way of compensation. I have been a customer for over 2 years and they want to offer me one free month. A slap in the face.
Well did you register your alarm with the city which is required by all police??

I had a Vivint sales girl come to my door too. She seemed very nice. I told her I had ADT & wasn't interested in changing. She asked if there was somewhere we could sit down & talk, I said no. Then she asked if she could see my ADT I said no, she was trying everything to get into my house but I wouldn't let her see my ADT. I think it is a scam, I am very scepticle of people who want to get into UR house without being invited in. I told her twice I was interested

Always nice to hear from a Vivent employee.
I just experienced an incomplete installation. Was charged for the complete -$2,700.
Could not get it corrected though I called all day today and despite their 24 hour promise (uh, this is not in the contract. Who can wait 24 hrs for a problem with the security system?)
They are ALL about SALES.
I canceled this first day and reported fraud to credit card.
Let's see how long it takes for them to remove the DRILLED IN - who does that anymore?- crap?
I sent the cancel notice signature required after reading MANY reports of them saying they never received the notices.
This company is a scam. You are never fully aware of all the extra charges and the prices at four times retail until the tech is there and then you realize how much more.
Oh yes. The time from first call to installation was less than 24 hours. The time to fix what they failed to do? still waiting after 28 hours. Breech of Contract
