I have Vivint. We've had it for almost two years now and love it. What makes you think it is a scam? It was Apex when we got it but changed to Vivint about 6 months agao, but even still we haven't had any problems with them.

A Vivint salesperson came to my door today and he was pushy. The guy kept looking in my house and I told him I was not interested and then he wanted to know if he could come inside and talk. I thought immediatly that that this was a way for people to find out what time I was home because he was asking about when I'm gone. If these people come to your door tell them someone is home all the time and do not let them past your front door. Sort of the same theory of the meat truck people. Just wanting to know when someone is home. Never put your info out there for strangers.

I see your point. When I bought my system they were under a different name so they probably have a whole new staff since they were bought out. But the guy who sold me mine was very professional, he never asked to come in and we sat in the driveway. Sucks sounds like the guy was really unprofessional.

Doesn't anyone check the BBB site before doing business with companies anymore? They are a wealth of info.

Sure, there can be individuals working for any company that are unethical. But how is it rational that you make an entire company with over half a million customers that are being protected and two awards from JD power and associates to be a scam? Sure, any door to door company will have a hard time with the reputation of representatives, but have you even seen all of the instances in the news where lives have been saved? Its like you are mocking the person in little rock who didn't die in a fire in his home because a vivint system called the FD when he was unconscious. Or the people in Joplin whose Vivint tornado alerts were going off 5 minutes before the public sirens (the hospital in joplin had such brutal casualties, in part, because the tornado hit right after the public sirens went off. They didn't have enough time to prepare). Or check the news in sparks, NV, where a woman was running for her gun in her bedroom while being chased through the home by an intruder with a sawed off shotgun, blowing the locks off of doors. The Vivint two way system helped save her life. These are all just within the last couple months, imagine how many lives have been saved through the company's existence. Calling an entire company a scam is a mockery of these lives saved.

Of course when you hire thousands of college kids, there will be a few bad seeds that come as a surprise. But they don't last. Which is why what you are doing by posting about it can actually be helpful for a company like this. But its only helpful if you make a rational choice and actually make a wise, balanced, educated evaluation of what is going on. Instead, you are taking a small, localized experience and attempting to do internet-sized damage to an entire company who might not deserve it. Just always remember that its not wise to be quick or hasty to make massive judgments :)

...like I said before....scare tactics, smooth and persuasive talk....SCAM ARTISTS. As a consumer, part of a making a wise, balanced, and educated decision about purchasing such a product is sorting through the endless amounts of BS that come with it. JD Power and Associates were apparently not approached by one of your salesmen. If JD Power and Associates have the same businesses standards and practices as Vivint, well then, they suck too!

I hardly think it's scare tactics. Just because you don't think it's worth it doesn't mean it's a scam. A scam is when you pay for something you don't recieve..you know, like direct tv. Like I said, I've had this system for two years. 50 bucks a month, no large payment up fron, the system was and installation were free.

I have the new touch screen and if my alarm goes off and I dont put in my password in time someone comes on the speaker of my system....not my phone....and asks for my password. If I don't give it to them the cops are at my house in less five minutes.

The fact of the matter is you're just a raging asshole that doesn't like sales people so I would suggest you go buy yourself one of those pretty little no soliciting signs at Wal-Mart so that legally they can't even ring your doorbell.

Just to be clear. I didn't have to pay anything at all up front. I didn't have to pay anything for my system. I didn't have to pay anything for installation. I did have to sign a contract for four years but my rate is locked at 50 bucks a month. And if you can't commit to 50 bucks a month for four years then your haouse probably ain't worth protecting anyways.

whatever, that's just rediculous, next the heating and air people will be messing up units so we can pay them to fix them, the electric company will turn on our lights while we're at work and the ga staions will syphon our gas. Y'all are absurd.

There has been a few companies in Kentucky that have resorted to scare tactics. Read the news. They were kicking in doors then showing up the next day and selling the living daylights out of their systems. I am very familiar with this company. Their systems are made by a company who sells similar models of home security devices at Walmart and other stores. Lol you all really got screwed. ADT offers the same set up for 35.99 a month. The equipment is made for ADT, and has a VERY good rep for being extremely reliable. Plus ADT employees and dealers have to be professional and do a grade A job. ADT doesn't take things lightly. Your best bet is an ADT dealer where you pay 35.99 a month and 99 dollars down. Much less cost and better service and equipment. Plus ADT has been around pretty much the longest or them all.

They lie and tell people glass break covers a whole house. They are a fly by night company. They are out of Utah and don't help you after a summer sales job is done. CHeck the bbb they used to be apx. F with the bbb now after a year of being vivant they already are down to a c-. If that doesn't spell sC-am I don't know what does. They make it difficult for the general public to trust alarm companies!

Still disagreeing, I bought mine when it was apx, it was made very clear to me that glass break did not cover the whole house. There were sensitivity issues and my dog set it off everytime it barked at night but I called them and they came out the next day to fix it.

What I find funny is all the people downing the system don't even have it so how are you going to rate something you've never used.

You can find bad reviews on any company when searching the web, even ADT has been reported to the BBB......and the last time I checked going from an F to a C was an improvement.

I agree 100 percent with you. Apex failed and they will too. I can't wait to see what happens if no one picks up where they left off. Will these people still have coverage? And yes the glass break sensors are not what they say. They are giving people false security at night when people are more afraid. PEOPLE WAKE UP AND REALIZE THEY ARE NOT PROTECTING MUCH AT NIGHT. Anyone with sense would still be able to break in your house.

I have to disagree with you. I've been in a few houses that got this system. They are not protected like they think.
