I was there too Richmond Girl!

Hard to believe they set up in such a small space.

I'd walk there and remember you could hear from some distance away.

I went down and looked at what was left of that pool a few years ago. Looked at where they set up. It's completely gone now.

Today would have been Jimmy's 67th birthday, but he's forever young.

Really? What year was she born?

There wasn't a child mentioned in the newspaper when Jimmy died, I don't think.

Jimmy was buried in the Madison Memorial Gardens on Berea Road. As you enter the cemetery it's on the left toward the front. There is a guitar on his tombstone. I don't think there will ever be a frontman who can replace him. He is missed.

My sisters and I used to go to Richmond pool in 1965-67 and we just loved The Exiles. They used to play gigs there. I guess that Jimmy Stokely was the first love of my life. I had lived in England for three years before coming back to US and he just represented all the best of music. I was so shocked to hear that he had died. He was amazing.

Jimmy stokley was Exile founder and engine behind band. Once they hit it big the band turned on him and threw him out. It killed Jimmy. He drank himself to death. He was a true showman and took the band to it's first hit Kiss you all over. Then he was thrown out. The rest of the band took the glory and left poor stokley in the dirt. Stokley was all rock n roll. No country. There should be a movie about this.

That's not true, you're changing the story - Exile were closeknit, Jimmy was simply through with the music industry and left on amicable terms.

That's so sweet, she's so lucky.:) Mostly just wondering what sort of person he was, and how he spent his time after Exile.

Jimmy died at Pattie A. Clay around 10-15 years back. Hardly had any visitors from the Exiles. He was in hospital a good while. Used to go watch Exiles at the armory in Monticello and the Beecher Hotel in Somerset back in the late 60's early 70's.
