July 1946 Bill Monroe did a concert in Richmond and spent some time at the Blue Moon. September 1947 Blue Moon of Kentucky is released arguably the greatest bluegrass song of all time.

Dee you are an idiot. Did you ever think the cops have to take other calls and can't just sit at the blue moon to cite someone with marijuana. If your so concerned why don't you go there, monitor what's going on and then call the police. You my friend are a hybrid.

Say what u want about the Blue Moon, but it's been one place in Richmond that hasn't been thru a name change, closed down, torn down, or a big change in management. I for one have several good memories of good times in the place including meeting my 2nd wife there,(God rest her soul), plus playing music there, and meeting a bunch of good folks.
And as far smoking pot or anything else, that goes on any & everywhere in this and every other town in America, so do something about it or get over yourself, and quit crying about it here. Nobody really gives a shit....

The Blue Moon is what it is, so why not appreciate it for what it does for the rest of the Richmond scene?

I for one wish it were bigger and could accomodate more of the sort that tend to go there. That way, the drink moochers, the unwashed skanks, the fake disabled, the pillheads and other fucktards that regularly go there would be more likely to remain there, instead of venturing out and polluting the nicer places as they often do now.

Perhaps the cab companies could be convinced to offer discounts to regular Blue Moon patrons, or to accept EBT, to further encourage this.

The Blue Moon is the electric bug light of local bars, zapping a good portion of human parasites before they can wander around and bother the rest of us. Long live the Blue Moon!

I am in my 30's and my friends and I use to hangout at the Blue Moon every weekend when I was 23-27 yrs old. I haven't been there in about 2 yrs but Tracy one of the girls that owns it is a very nice, clean cut lady. They also have a great band that plays there on the weekends. They have remodeled the inside and it looks much nicer. The people that go there are really nice and most are not from Madison county. You should give it a try before bad mouthing it. My friend and I were on our way to t bombs one night and decided to stop and go in the blue moon cause we had never been there. We were terrified but ended up having a GREAT time. Granted I wouldn't go in there looking to find a hot guy or girl but you will definitely have a fun.
