i hope you are trolling. a 30 year old man should never Ever sleep with a 16 year old. there is a reason that that is considered statutory rape.

Definately not my cup of tea, but just so people are not misinformed about the law in KY, the legal age for consent in KY is 16. If a 60 year old has sex with 16 yo in KY and it is mutual consent, it is legal.

In some states, the age of consent is 18; in Kentucky, it is 16.

I thought it was 16 with parental consent?

Either way, I find a 16 year old and a 30 year old highly disgusting.

The 30 year old is surely taking advantage.

Ask any 16 year old and they will tell you, they know everything ;-) When I was 16, I was the same way: I believed I had it all figured out, that I knew what love was, that I knew who I was, and what I wanted.

Only later, looking back, did I realize how young, inexperienced, emotionally undeveloped and completely unready I was for the life I thought I wanted. Sadly, many will never realize this themselves until they, too, reach that stage later in life, when *true* adulthood is reached.

The fact is (myself included once upon a time): A mere teenager has only the vaguest and most juvenile notion of what love is, what it takes to make a real relationship work, and most importantly, who they themselves are. The experiences they have yet to have, crucial to their development, identity, and eventual maturity, have barely begun to present themselves.

Why on earth Kentucky trails the rest of the nation in its age of legal consent is a mystery to me. Grown men who take advantage of these unknowingly clueless kids are predatory, selfish creatures who are deeply deficient in some fundamental, moral way, if they think it okay to engage in sexual and/or romantic activities with a child. Had I a daughter, law or not, they'd not soon find what was left of him, much less be able to identify the remains. As the father of 2 sons, were I someday to learn that either of them, as adults, were taking advantage of a child in this way, I would personally feed them their teeth.

It is absolutely wrong, and the fault lies with both the perverted man who seeks such a thing, and the parents of the girl in question, who have clearly dropped the ball in both her upbringing and in her current level of supervision. Hopefully their daughter's emotional well being and possibly her future will not have to pay the price for her parent's negligence... and hopefully the perverted man in question is promptly taken out by a speeding truck before this evil can occur. Same for every other instance of this all-too-common, unforgivable situation.

Shame on those who disagree.

Ummm no, think again.

The age of consent is 16, but if the partner is over 18 it can still be charged as statutory rape. It is illegal for anyone over the age of 18 to have sexual contact in any form with someone under the age of 18 in Kentucky. Consensual or not.

Heck dumb lol. I always say..age is just a number too! Doesn't mean anything. As long as both want to then it's cool. If she's old enough to have hair on it, have the sexual urges like all teens do, and knows what sex is, then she's old enough to experience it! 16 isn't a kid anymore!

what if it was a 30 year old male high school teacher and a 16 year old boy and the boy was doing the pressuring...everything was consentual and it wouldn't be considered rape since hes 16..the only thing he could be charged with is abuse of authority..which there is gaining power to get rid of that on certain circumstances....What do you have to say to that

It wouldn't matter. I have no double standard in the matter. And as recent court cases involving perverted teachers that step out of line, thankfully, neither do prosecutors.

Absolutely NOT TRUE. Check with your lawyer.

Age of consent in Ky is 16. The only way that is is against the law is if the adult is in a position of authority over the 16 yo, such as a teacher, cop, etc...

What does love have anything to do with it? And it could be, do you personally know either of them? "Had I a daughter, law or not, they'd not soon find what was left of him, much less be able to identify the remains." or vice versa violence is a two way street.

Although others are always quick to judge and offer generalities, I will say that a couple of things are almost always true. Females mature faster than males, thus they almost always seek older men. They simply cannot relate to men their own age. Our "children" are far more grown up than they ever have been. I was (and still am) in a relationship with a man who was five years older than myself at the age of 15. We married, chose not to have kids, and have been married for 15 years. Some 16 year olds can handle and want to have relationships with older men. As for those judging the man, sure sex is probably the first attraction but it may not be the only one. Above all, teach the young person to be responsible and protect themselves from disease and pregnancy. Beyond that, they'll be just fine.
