It used to be the Circle H. It's on Exit 99 under the Interstate. I know it used to be the spot. But lately i've heard it's not even worth going to. I havent been there for some time now, but from what I hear, I'm not missing anything special.

I have herd bad things about Circle H. My husband use to drive a cab and he went down there a few times, and they have stabbings and stuff like fights and all that. Wouldn't recomend it....but that's just my opinion.

Apparently none of these peopl haven't been there lately! Riptide is nothing like these discriptions depict. This place for years had buisnesses opened under different names like pier 99 and the latest be the circle H saloon. It had some of the roughest people in central ky as regular patrons. It definitely was a redneck hangout. But now It has been redone from top to bottom. It is as different between black and white! The owner has spent half a million and has patrons from the ritzy neighborhoods like Boones Trace and Shiloh Point. They have a Great restaurant and dance floor which has a fishtank underneath the floor with lights in the bottom hooked up to the sound booth. A Great Place to take the whole family on a sunday after church to have a bite to eat, play in the sand with kids, cornhole, live dinner music, and marina. you just need to drive by and see for yourself!

Is the new owner still living out in the camper smoking crack and messing around with all the girl employees?

I worked at the Circle H for 10+ years. I have seen many fights/stabbings and even a shooting or two. The fish tank dance floor has been there for years and years. It is nothing new. Riptides is a great place, the food is always wonderful. But nothing will ever be as good or bad as the Circle H. The bad always came in spells. We may not have had a fight in weeks and then bam! there would be a fight every weekend for a while. The new owners have done a great job renovating the place. But it still smells like the Circle H. I don't think that will ever change. There might be a new crowd that comes to Riptides but it is just a classy bunch of rednecks.

like that guy said black and white! you are a disgruntled employee apparently. I was there when the old fishtank dance floor was torn out. The supporting structure was built with wood which had rotted over time and I'm sure a fish wouldn't have lived there but a few minuts. The whole area was gutted and a professional aquarium company installed the pumps and filters to insure that the investment which the owner made would insure that the freshwater sharks they intend to have would be very safe. I have been there during restaurant hours and during club hours and the only time I ever seen any problems was when one of those old redneck that decided to hangout there became beligerant and had to be removed. They have done a great job of keeping those type of party goers away from what now is a great and classy dancing place. keep up the good work Jason. Our property values have increased since you have cleaned up this area. we're glad to have you as our neighbor.

you got to be hitting the pipe yourself! This guy has sank every dime to his name into that buisness. He has made our community safer by removing that old eye sore from the banks of the river. I have seen him with his kids and he seems to be very much a fatastic father to his small children. I'm sure his wife is very proud of her husband for his vision in this property. And yes Black and white is the best discription for now verses 3 years ago.

The circle H was for trash. I bet there are bodies in that river from that bar. Is Riptides a bar like circle H (honky tonk)?
Yup

Riptides has no chance. It has the scarlet letter of the Circle H on it, and every patron that posts here seems a little snooty for a hole in the wall. If I want a nice bar, I'll go to the Big Blue Martini. If I want a country bar, I'll go to Austin. Looks like this Riptides place is trying to strike the wrong balance, and forgets that the place will always be associated with the Circle H.

Like I said I havent been there in a while. But when I did go I had fun. The downstairs is rap music and a dance floor. The upstairs is country. And in the Summer they have live bands with a sand volleyball court.
I used to work at Huddle House 3rd shift when it was the Circle H. I absolutly HATED Friday and Saturday nights. All the drunks from Circle would come up the way to eat and they were so obnoxious and rude and hardly tipped anything for a 7 person seat. I remember once a guy ordered a steak, ate all but one bite, then said he wanted a refund bc it wasnt cooked right. I was like "you shouldnt have eaten all of it then!"
I'm glad they reinvented it, but I dont know what its like there now, havent been since last summer.

Thanks "Reply"...I also worked there a few years before Earl sold the Circle H. I think that "Golfer" needs to read my post again. I stated this "I have seen many fights/stabbings and even a shooting or two.(Meaning jerk: While I worked at the Circle H) The fish tank dance floor has been there for years and years. It is nothing new.(Meaning: It wasn't just an idea that Jason just thought of) Riptides is a great place, the food is always wonderful. The new owners have done a great job renovating the place. Do I need to continue to explain?
