new to richmond but all these cold case murders & missing persons got my attention. I thought my family was moving into a quite little town . First news story I noticed when I moved in was a lady missing, found her in a lake. From what I read hers may have been an unfortuant accident. As I heard more I began to look up news stories on the others. Who in the world would target the two older ladies that were brutely murdered & then not a clue to who did from from our police. Missing couple next. Appears circumstances were different there from the two ladies but all the same nothing from the police on that either. Going back years I noticed many murders unsolved here. I am beginning to wonder if this would encourage drug dealers, murders & other riff raff to choose Richmond to live in. Seems the perfect city to get by with murder. What is the problem here?

Ever watch Deliverance! Welcome to Kentucky!
Richmond is one of the dirtiest cities I've ever lived in! I did the right thing and moved away! The door also didn't hit me!
You may want to check out Winchester, Nicholasville or the suburbs to Lexington. Richmond is too close to drug filed, Lancaster, Rockcastle County and has easy access to 75. Drug Runners go up and down the freeway daily. Unfortunately, Richmond is in the middle of the state, which has exposure to all of that.
The Police Force is actually pretty good! They are just overwhelmed, because some people still think it's Mayberry. However, with the amount of drugs Richmond has you better have good locks on your windows and always look over both of your shoulders when you are walking.
Not too mention their is a high unemployment rate in Richmond. It's not because their is a lack of jobs, but people prefer to collect welfare and run other scams. Rather then work a crappy job with crappy pay, some people would rather sit around all day and have the hardworking tax payer pay for their laziness. With a high amount of unemployment, their is always crime. Petty thieves by bummy azz white folks.
Prescription drugs and meth is the local Richmond Residents drug of choice.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from Richmond! Their are alot better mid size cities then that town. The closer you get to Lexington, the better off you will be. The closer you move to Southeastern Kentucky, the poorer and lower class of Kentuckian you will come across.
Good Luck!
