The selling at cost with a 10% surcharge sounds like a great idea if it were true. I went to the new Cash Saver in High Ridge Missouri today, and sadly... I do not believe their claims. They were selling Coke 12 packs for $4.50 which would be $4.95 after the 10% is added. That's the highest price in the area. If they are really paying $4.50 for 12 packs of coke cans, then they must be shopping at Dierbergs.

The quality of the food there was rubbish. If you ventured away from readily recognizable name brads you would be punished when you tried it.

Just had a Cash Saver open in Ozark Missouri last week. Went in to check it out on Friday. The "sale" items are very good deals. Picked up raisin bran for $1.81, Banquet pot pies for $0.46, and was happy to see they have Pick 6 for $22 (the other store that was there had Pick 5 for $25) in the meat department...although so far it was all frozen items instead of fresh meat like before. And when I saw the fresh green peppers for $0.35 each when Wal-mart sells them right now for $0.88 each...get the picture? I will gladly pay an extra 10% to save $0.53 each. Some of the other items still seem a little high. Will have to go compare prices at other stores before final decision.

It not much of a store if they are going around and telling their empolyees that they will have the store I work for closed in less then two months. I've been in that store and alot of stuff they have mark down is not name brand stuff. My thinking is that they don't care about their customers all they call about is closing down alot of the small sotre or just in it for the money.

The price stickers are the actual cost that E.W.James paid for it. Most grocery stores have their "Loss Leaders" that they advertise and sell at below cost just to get you in the store. I suggest checking out the prices and mentally add the 10% to realize that it is still a bargain. How do you think Kroger and Wal*Mart got so big (it wasn't because they give things away).
I went into the store we have here and the only thing I see that is marked down is the Always Save brands. None of the name brands are marked down. If you notice the name brands are priced more then what Kroger and Walmart. So if you go in and buy the name brands and they are adding 10% to me that isn't saving.

A Cash saver opened in Spfld on 3/22. No savings for people on ebt. Or WIC this is a BIG rip off. Trying to recover from all of the shop lifters . Drug addicts. Why pay a 10% markup. They don't pay u 10% to shop there! Why should pay for the new computers, drug addicts habits. If I wanted to pay 10% more I'd buy a Sams membership. There is NO SAVINGS at 2650 W.Kearney!

It would be OK if they post a price, then post the 10% more on shelf... for those of us who don't do math quickly in our heads. It's difficult to add the 10% in your head (say $2.77+ 27.7=???) and do it for many items when you are in a hurry. I think they know that. They know you won't add correctly. And, it's not like you are going to change your mind after check out and take items off your bill 'cause the 10% was more than you liked.
It's not right to exploit people's weaknesses to sell them stuff.
Too bad as it was nice store when it was Save-a-Lot..I won't go there unless I absolutely have to, and have a calculator, pencil, paper, and lots of time.

What alot of people don't see is that the name brand item are alot higher then Wal-mart Also the only thing that is marked down is the off branded items and alot of them is a month or so out dated. And when they first open up the items was marked down really low.And now they are slowly raising the prices. When you add the 10% your really not saving that much. And the pick 6 you not saving anything because one they add the 10% your paying 25.00.

Cash Saver good for the best prices on many items. The key to getting your best savings is still to SHOP AROUND.

Cash Savers has been in town(Montgomery,AL.) For about three months. I finally had a chance to shop there yesterday. After looking at my receipt I was shocked that they had charged me tax twice. They charge individual tax on each item than 10% on the total. Although the prices were nice but its no different than shopping at all the regular stores that advertise the right price....Never going back.

This is what you do!! Take $1000 at birth of your children put in a 1 time payment to a mutual fund that has averaged 12% the last 10 years; and there are plenty of them, at age 65 your child will have $1,581,784 for retirement!! Take that to the bank!!
