Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said Friday that President Obama had overstepped his constitutional authority with his recent decision to order his administration to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act.

In an interview with Newsmax, Gingrich characterized the president's latest announcement regarding DOMA, a law that allows states to not honor gay marriages, as "a dereliction of duty and a violation of his constitutional oath" that "cannot be allowed to stand."

On Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Holder said Obama had determined that his administration would no longer defend a law defining marriage as only between a man and a woman.

Gingrich on Friday said that this plan of action was unacceptable.

"He swore an oath on the Bible to become president that he would uphold the Constitution and enforce the laws of the United States," Gingrich said. "He is not a one-person Supreme Court. The idea that we now have the rule of Obama instead of the rule of law should frighten everybody."

While Obama was sheltered by the left, which "likes the policy," Gingrich claimed, he proposed another situation that he suggested would have caused much more clamor.

"Imagine that Governor Palin had become president," Gingrich said. "Imagine that she had announced that Roe versus Wade in her view was unconstitutional and therefore the United States government would no longer protect anyone's right to have an abortion because she personally had decided it should be changed. The news media would have gone crazy. The New York Times would have demanded her impeachment."

The news has many high level elected leaders calling for impeachment proceedings.

The real question is this.

Are the black people in this country smart enough to not see his impeachment as something negative against them?

I agree with the masses, he needs to be impeached ASAP. But I really don't want to have to start whacking blacks because of it. I guess people will do what they have to, but maybe someone can find the right words so blacks see this as it is, a positive thing for America.

But who with intelligence can speak ebonics? Its tough, with all the grunts, chirps, and whistles.

Ou Ou Ou Ah Ah Ahhhhhh Gotsta B dis way...

Ah screw it, I tried. I guess we will just deal with the uprising.

Lol, the whites accepted lies for war from Bush. When he was found out nothing was done to him. And people died because of his illegal move. So what are you complaining about. If you accept it from one president don't expect the next to follow the law either.

I agree that Obama may have overstepped his boundaries in certain areas, however this has happened in the past. I personally believe he should be impeached, but it will never happen. I think Bush should have been impeached, but thats water under the bridge. The fact of the matter is that an impeachment would cause political turmoil. If the process for impeachment is attempted, you will see disasterous riots in the black communities. I dont want anything like that to happen, because our tax dollars will cover the expenses for repairs. The only way we will turn this country around is through organization, and political demonstrations. The problem we face is that nobody wants to get involved. In order to handle problems, it takes large numbers of protestors that refuse to back down. I could go on for hours. Take a close look at the situation in Egypt, and see how it was handled. That would never happen in the USA. We are taught as children to not face our problems, but to instead rely on someone else. We have become a nation of crybabies who lack the balls to take control of our lives. When our founding fathers created this great nation, they were loved by some and hated by many. It took blood, sweat, and tears to break away from england, and create freedom. Our childrens history books portray them as heroes, but if they were on this earth today they would be labeled "terrorists". Think about it.

I agree with jerk . Impeach, that is a darn joke. He is going to be reelected. At least he tries to be honest, but republicans hate honesty.

The moment they even attempt to impeach Obama the "African-Americans" will play the Race card and say it is because he is not White or or the "Religious-Nuts" will say it is because of his religious beliefs... Personally I think all political offices should be UNPAID servitude positions and at the end of your elected term the PEOPLE decide if you did a good job and IF you should receive any type of momentary compensation...

He prays with the muslims. He has said this is not a christian nation. He is gonna let the illegal aliens have citizenship. If he gets re-elected we are in deep trouble. But blacks dont see any of this because they are the most racist people on the planet.

President Obama was correct when he said the United States is not Christian. Our government cannot sanction one religion over another. It is separation of church and state. The citizens have the right to their own religious beliefs. Daa? What are you wanting to do? Set up a state sanctioned religion so the people are controlled by the government?

Well you all wanted change, elect him again and see how you like it when illegal mexicans are over here drawing off of the social security you and I paid in for years. I am not against mexicans as long as they go through the procedures to get citizenship.
