I hope the man who runs the place got fired. They are the most unethical bank I have ever done business with. They still owe me $400 dollars, and claim I owe them. I have proof of a deposit they claim was never made, and I was charged for overdraft fees because they never credited my account. They should be totally shut down.

This is a small town bank owned and operated by small town people. They have no idea how a true financial institution should be run. A few folks with money decided it might be fun to start a bank in town. Sorry, but that's not how it is successfully done.

I all know is that my wife told me Bill Walters was either fired or asked to resign. Which surprised me since he was integral to the place opening. Of course I don't know a thing about what could have led up to it or why the board, I would presume, took that action. Which I presume is true, only because I called someone else in town who had heard the same thing. Not exactly journalism, but I tend to think it must be so. He was never anything but good to me, so the purpose of my post isn't to swat a hornet's nest but just because I'd like to know what happened.

I would suppose it's business as usual at the bank regardless of who the president is, so there wouldn't be any need to.

I have great respect for Bill Walters and Merwyn Jackson, a board member who I heard resigned. If anything happened it had to be an accident, nothing intentional. Perhaps the board just wanted to move in a different way.

That's also interesting if Merwyn stepped down. Indicates this action was something other than unanimous, to be sure. It will all come out.

I read everything I could find online today about the bank. It was number two in its service area in terms of deposits. It was not on any sort of list of being in a position of being a bank close to being taken over by the FDIC or anything of the sort. So that's why I started the thread to begin with. It's in a very competitive market place, eleven banks in the area as one of the government sites reported, and was #2 in deposits. Of course there is more to a bank than that, but as a layman, nothing I read stuck out like a sort thumb. But again, I'm not in the banking business. As I said before, all I know is that he helped me when I needed it.

I remember when he was trying to get the bank started. His kids and mine were in grade school. I invested in the bank; what I put into it probably paid for the plants in the lobby. So no rush to judgment from me, but that was "his," so to speak, although of course it was others, also. I'm just surprised that it came to this end, if this "end" is in fact so. Regardless, it was his vision that led to the bank's formation.

I hate US bank they are crooks and I would advise people to keep a eye out on there bank statements they ripped me off for 525.00 that I didn't owe I am getting sued over that and they can't tell me how I owe it. I closed mybank account with them and they was still charging me a year later I didn;t evn know that the account was still active until I got a letter from a lawyer saying that they was suing me and my checking account had been closed for a year.

I like all those folks at that bank, but they seem to have catered to many people who like to live above their means, for example brent ray who went bust on several million dollars. Its a madison county thing.
