I personally could care less either way but the bottom line of your post is you want someone else to take care of your kids. You had them, you find care for them, that is your job. School is more than just books and academic learning, it is also about this type of sport and social event.
There was no way for the board or the superintendent to please everyone.
Grow up and get a life and most of all raise your own children instead of looking to the school system to provide child care.

just becuase they cancel school (for whatever reason) the school year is built with days off due to "things". this year the weather wasn't bad to cancel school enough to use all of those built in days. so why not let the kids out to support the school in a state level tourney?

School day had been planned since last week. For the people who are moaning about getting sitters, maybe you should pay more attention to your kids and class, since it has been scheduled for a week now. Then there are some of you, that bitching is like breathing. You can't live without it.

So if not for the tournament this would have most likely been a snow day. If so then why did they risk running 20 buses of kids to Lexington if it wasnt safe to have school. This is extra curricular they should have found their own way to Lexington and again not wasting county money.
i will help you

you're confused because youre a complete dumbass. i don't hold this against you because, well, youre a complete dumbass.

i'll try to break it down for you... so please read this slowly.

driving a bus at 6am in the snow filled streets to get every child to school is dangerous. driving a bus at 10am after the trucks have plowed the streets and salted them for kids who wanted to go to lexington and paid the $5 they charged them to get on the bus and go is not so dangerous.

did you read that slow enough? did you understand? if not, you're a bigger confused dumbass then i thought and no matter what i tell you, you will still be confused (and you will always be a dumbass).

how did they make you miss work? and if you are refering to school being out, as I stated before, it has been scheduled for over a week. Pay closer attention to your childs schedule.

Not every parent of elementary students got the memo. I know I didn't and I have 2 kids in elementary school. And I pay VERY close attention to EVERY piece of paper that the school sends home. Thankfully I had no problems making arrangements (hubby stayed home), but I feel bad for the single parents who did have problems.

But I would like to know how many days are they going to allow to be missed because of these games. What if both the boys and the girls teams advance to the final game?
