My wife and I are getting a divorce. It is a joint decision and completely uncontested. The papers are already drawn up and ready to be signed. The papers need to be signed in front of a notary public. Who can I go to to get them signed (and cheap) here in Richmond? Thanks for your help.

Yes, they will do it, but not sure of the charge. I think it is usually 5-10 bucks. I am sure most banks have a notary.

There is a notary at Tax-Wise Inc in Richmond that only charges $10. Call to make sure notary is there before you go. She is very nice.

Don't be cheap. Hire an attorney.

It both people are agreeing on everything why send $1,000-$1,500 for an attorney to file the paperwork compare to a $150-$250 for filing the paperwork. They may need that money for deposits or whatever.

I agree. People who have done their research and have half a brain know that this is the way to go. You don't need an attorney to get a divorce unless there is children involved or it is being contested.
