<quoted text>I am not a teacher or a faculty member of the schools; nor do I have a family member who works for the school system. May I make one suggestion. Next week, instead of complaining on the gossip site, take the time to email 1 teacher, 1 coach, or 1 principal and copy this one sentence - "I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate what you do for the kids at your school. Thank you!"
This simple message of gratitude will be just a small step in showing the teachers that they are appreciated. All are human, with stress in their life. I have been told the staff in the school system have not received a raise in the last 5 years. Yet the demands in their life increases. Just send a simple thank you to let them know how much they are appreciated.
What a great idea!

Many factors but let's face it, it is getting worse and we need leadership and discipline in those classes and hallways. I am not advocating violence but there have to be some kind of protocol and it has to be followed each and every time when it happens. It starts not with the big things but with the little things that are swept under the carpet each day and then everyone wants to know well what were the clues when something big happens? Come on!

The atmosphere of "anything goes" has been stirring at MC for a few years now. Cheating, disrespect, smoking, dealing, and making out have been tolerated as "normal kid behavior." It is miraculous that nothing worse has happened before (oh yeah--except for the fire and the stabbing). What has to happen next before good sense steps up and Central is restored to a level of safety and scholarship?

I do not work for the school system nor have I ever but I will go ahead and assume you do or know someone who does. I did pull my child out of Madison for safety concerns. As a voting taxpayer I have a right to be angry. The principal of a school is basically the general manager of a company. They are responsible of everything that goes on in the building. If there are safety concerns, hire more security. A problem student, suspend them. A teacher with poor performance, address the problem. I walk by a classroom and the teacher is writing the word restaurant on the blackboard. "Resterant" If the teachers cant spell, how do excpect the students to. Obviously you are satisfied with mediocre so by all means, continue the status quo.

There are too many dangerous kids in the PASS program. Send these kids to a special school even if they aren't court ordered. Why do they send ISS to the AG building? There isn't any punishment during ISS. When Mr. Fultz was the parking lot was locked during the day. Janitor would unlock it. Now they skip all the time.

I suppose that with you "walking past a classroom" you were able to determined the lesson and judge. I am as much impressed with this ability than I am your humor of calling someone "Elmer Fudd." At my first impression, I really thought you were stupid. I suppose not.
My toungest child goes to Central as did my oldest. Frankly the education has improved. I not my son fears for his safety. That is not to say fights are not concerning. However, as one who far from average, I am not going to make an irrational judgement call.
As far as hiring more staff ask Tommy Floyd and the board. By the way, you "walk" (sic) the blackboard is concerning. I would hope there would not be a blackboard in a classroom in Year 2012.

If you don't work there, how do you know what is written on the board?

Apparently you don't know anything about how things work today. It's not all as simple as you would like to think.

Keep fighting for safe schools! Why, in this age of technology, can't we broadcast the lessons to the non-compliants without endangering our kids who have earned (and shown they have earned) a right to higher education? Why are we bussing, feeding and carrying these criminals along, when they have clearly chosen an uneducated life? Are we that desperate for government funding?
