There was almost literally nothing but people putting stuff on twitter or facebook. There were nowhere near double digit fights (try a couple of fights and a couple of more twitter fed incidents) and there was no gun in school, as far as I know. The school was never on lockdown and there were no news crews. Social media created something out of nothing. Go figure.

Never saw anything on the news lately but something about several athletes from Central signing to play ball at college. Sounds like they are getting ready to have a good Basketball, swim and baseball seasons. I heard kids get an education, graduate and then go to college over there. I would spread the word.

They must have a good boxing team with kids walking down the hall just hitting people at random. Too bad Model is too expensive for most students to be able to attend.

When has the Richmond Register gotten anything right? There were 2, that is the most any student has admitted to seeing.Twitter, Facebook and all that crap blew it totally out of proportion. The suckers are the ones that believe the hype.

Sorry dude. I pulled my kid out of that "school" a year ago for his safety. Elmer Fudd is not in control of that place. Ok there were 2. That's 2 too many.

Who should we believe? Students who may tend to exaggerate the number of fights but really have no interest in how many there were besides gossip unless they were involvved? Or the administration that is doing damage control trying to make it not look as bad as everyone is saying? Not sure if I buy that agroup of students got together and said hey lets exaggerate this and make our school look bad. Its central the kids aren't that smart. Time to clean house up there. If the school board doesn't..then its time to clean out the school board.

Why is this the school's fault? Blame the teachers, principals, & janitors??? Insane! How about blame the parents who teach their kids that fighting at school is okay or allow them to believe they can do whatever they was without any punishment at all. This is not a Central problem, this is a Richmond problem. Richmond needs to get behind the school and get rid of the parents that don't parent.

Parents need to teach their kids not to fight, but to handle their difference in a mature and adult manner. Highschoolers are young adults. If the parents can't teach this simple lesson, then leave it up to our teachers, police, and jails. If your children have friends that can't behave, help the misbehaved parent out and correct that child. If you don't your child will be influenced and those influencing will be police and inmates. Kind of simple.

I am not a teacher or a faculty member of the schools; nor do I have a family member who works for the school system. May I make one suggestion. Next week, instead of complaining on the gossip site, take the time to email 1 teacher, 1 coach, or 1 principal and copy this one sentence - "I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate what you do for the kids at your school. Thank you!"
This simple message of gratitude will be just a small step in showing the teachers that they are appreciated. All are human, with stress in their life. I have been told the staff in the school system have not received a raise in the last 5 years. Yet the demands in their life increases. Just send a simple thank you to let them know how much they are appreciated.

Wow nice to see some people support some ideas of common sense and see that things can't be blamed on a school but there are several factors when you put almost 2,000 people in one building. Lots of diverse opinions, ideas and personalities. Lack of parenting can play a role as well as societal issues such as a depressed economic status. Lots of frustration with lack of social skills in dealing with conflicts. And for the record, I don't think they can lie about how many fights there were. Four is the number reported and sounds like measures were taken to respond. My kids loved MC and there are always going to be people who act stupid. Take a walk down the aisle at Walmart-their kids go to public school.
