There is a new gym coming to Richmond called poynters Iron Pit.
It`s gonna be a hardcore strength training gym where chalk is allowed, sled drags, tire flips, prowler and anything else you can think of to get big and strong.Of course you can still do your cardio or anyother type training there, but you won`t get kicked out for wanting to use big weights and lots of chalk.Squat racks with bands, chains or anything else you can think of.No contracts, you pay and workout,if you don`t like it,your not obligated by a contract like the other gyms in Richmond..Dec. 4 is the goal for opening up.All you guys that love to squat bench and deadlift will love this gym along with all the other accesory equipment they have...

Do they not govern what can and can't be done in a gym. I mean, I would think they would make it hard on an owner and really regulate what he/she does. I know a lot if people that are going to like that type of gym though. Good luck to you!

This gym is truely one of a kind! And a dump? Not hardly...Are you saying this b/c you are afraid to get dirty with the chalk and things? I bet you own one of these "preppy" gyms that don't allow that huh?
Anyhow, the owners are so helpful and friendly. You will feel the positive energy just walking in this gym. I am the type that would never go to a gym before because I didn't want to look like an idiot not knowing what I am doing on the equipment, but I don't have to worry about that at Poynter's Iron Pit. From the moment I walked in, I knew they were there for us, the customers! Thanks guys for opening what Richmond has been waiting for!

The man that runs this gym is on 's top 5 list. If anyone knows what he is doing with a hard core gym this is the man. He has help 100's if not 1000's in the search for a better body and better health. When you go into a gym do you want real results or one where you have to avoid the silver sneakers crew and the kids room? I only wish we had this man and his gym where I live.

I went up the the Iron Pit today and was motivated upon walking in. There were pictures hanging on the walls of Arnold and other motivational figures, not to mention quotes posted to keep you on your game.
Loud music fueled my workout and seeing other big guys in there slamming weight made it feel like a great place to hit the weight.

Richmond does not need anymore weight gyms, we need a good indoor basketball court.

I went to Poynter's for 1 week and gained 23lbs of muscle, dropped 16% body fat, went from being 5' 10" to 6' 5", and I have more women wanting me than ever. Can't wait to see what week #2 brings!

Next time any of you all are in the gym, ask Steve to show you his bonding certificate from the state.

It's required by law and so far the Attorney Generals office has no record of Poynter's Iron Pit filing for it.

I saw you don't have to be bonded if you don't accept payments up front for a year and if you make a person pay a joining fee.
