Ye...aaahhh. "They are probably taking food home to cook."
Are you serious? How can a person cook an airhead? Or sour straws? Wow, "Hates Idiots," you must be onto something there...they are feeding their families with nachos, popcorn, and pixie stix. hahahaha. Too much.

Why spend so much $$ on lights when all of the games are during the day?

I do volunteer my time at every game and practice. I don't know about any of the other stuff but I still wander when a meeting is where a parent can come to.

I spent well over $600 this year in football fees, pants, fundraisers, practice supplies and things of this nature. Not to mention donations and concessions for kids. The president and his wife need to GO! I've personally watched her get concession items and not pay for them. She's very rude and so is her husband. They have no business being over this league. I hope to see changes next year or they won't be getting a dime from myself or quite a few parents I know.
I agree with you on most of this but there are "poor" kids that play. I am a single mother & I have boys who play and we are not rich.

I disagree with you about the scholarships because they do offer scholarship if parents ask. They have to apply, but they are still required to pay half of the fee. I know because I received one for my son. Also, I'm a single mother of 3 and I'm far from being rich. I think you would be surprise how many kids that are playing are underprivileged whose parent/s struggle just so they can play football. Plus, if you spent $600 on supplies then you must fall under one of those rich families, because I would not be able to do that or like some other parents I know as well. As for the wife, which I think you are talking about the Kristi, she is there setting up at 8:00 most Saturdays and I believe she takes care of all the inventory of the concession stand. I have never heard her be rude or disrespectful to anyone. I hope that was just an isolated event, because everyone has a bad day.

Regardless, I enjoy my son playing MYFL and I appreciate everyone on the board because this program could easily be shut down without them volunteering their time. So if you want to complain how about stepping up and volunteering. If not, you have no right to complain if you are not will to help be part of the solution.

Lots of great things have been written in this thread and some not so great ones for certain.

I've been involved with this league many years. Normally, we just do our part and go with the flow and try and get along with all.

Not here to pick or play favorites or expect our child to receive all or any glory really. We're just teaching our kids many things and as a team family.

It's hard to see everyone happy all the time. Someone will lose. Someone will get hurt. Someone may not be played. Some parent may be ticked.

The cussing was very unprofessional. At least his emotions are tied into all this. Lots of emotion in sports is required.

The fundraiser is a joke. It does not work.$40 buyout is ridiculous. Fundraising trends should be looked into. I know it's part of what extracurricular organizations need to sustain. Schools bombard us with annoying fundraising...be it for them or some other bsns.

Here's some ideas: re-use jerseys and reduce entry a little, sell anything pertaining to the player's needs in coinciding colors (hello first gear), kick it back a notch and sell fundraising candy bars $1 (delicious),
partner with a local photographer that gives a percentage back?? Or perhaps that is done. Definitely broaden concessions: Hot chocolate, donuts, coffee, pizzas delivered, hot dogs, hamburgers, candy bars... Pop Warner concessions rocked. Let's get a concession trailer!

Yes all that takes more work. 1 concession worker currently is plenty. donation station can be at concession table. Concessions could be setup in front of the shed.

Heck, sell fan gear. Little blankets, parent shirts, bench cushions... why not make a ltl off what parents would most likely buy. Many of these kids will play years.

Where's the cheerleaders? Why not include girls more?? Upwards does.

Open invites to meetings should be standard. Minutes of those meetings should be given our posted to site. Balance sheet should be on site too.

I don't think anyone is stealing. I think the work associated is overwhelming for the few people really running things. More could be done and should be. More people need to help make that happen, but the help needs to be welcomed.

Well said. Someone is thinking. I remember pop Warner too. Wasn't fancy, but it worked. Concessions had a wide variety, and I believe parents ran them as they should. Good idea on cheerleaders. They could go with the team and by ages too. Might be an affordable way to cheer compared to expensive gyms. That would obviously bring in more kids, parents, extened family, and concession sales. It'd be wonderful to give a little girl a chance.
I noticed the sponsor signs are few and small this year. Did we lose some? They should be real easy to keep year after year. Give them a discount if you need to gain them. Can't imagine rehanging a sign is hard or costly.
Good stuff at central happening. They sold tailgate spots. That could be done. We're not supposed to be on lawn, but many are. Get permission. Sell 5 spots $10 ea, and resell as emptied. You could sell vip spots and have tents and chairs.$5 to enter.
Bake sale?? Whatever team is manning concessions, have them bring and sell goods. No cost to league.
Bathrooms and mud need to be addressed. A bathroom should be built. A concession trailer should either be bought by league, or perhaps park could bring one of those wooden ones down. Just needs to be done better. City baseball concessions are nice. Soccer has a real bathroom.
Why don't we sell programs?$5. All teams, officials, coaches, board members, refs, sponsors. A little something for all. I'm sure the sponsors would rather be in there than on a shirt they can't be seen on.
Volunteering sheets can be made and given at signups. You'd even have more help if you added cheerleader/dance families.
Bleachers on the other side need work. That side is weak, and some kids are too young to leave alone.
And yes, I may have cussed too, but that's ugly and now permanent. Does not look good for a league.

I have been involved with the league for a few years. I try my best to not get involved with the politics because, once you get wrapped up in it, it can consume you. I don't believe the league is stealing money, but I do believe that the rules are bent and broken for specific people and coaches.

One rule that I don't like is that board members can be coaches. Even if they are not doing anything wrong, there will always be suspicion, especially if there teams are winning.

I also don't like the lack of communication. The league has a facebook and website. It should be used more. There is no meetings for parents to attend or to voice their opinion. What this means is that the league is trying to retain control in their inner circle and not let any "outsiders" in. I would like to get involved but I know I would have no no chance.

This is the president's wife and I don't appreciate you dragging me into this drama. First of all, the socioeconomic status should not be brought up. These are children, playing a little league sport. Children from very diverse families. From poor to rich and everything in between and it doesn't matter!!! Kids don't have an income and kids don't care about how much money a person makes and neither do I. I have no idea why you would spend $600 for your child to play or for that matter, I can't imagine what you bought. I do not have anything to do with this league. You have never seen me, the president's wife, take anything from that concession stand. The only thing you've seen me leave the field with would be "OUR KIDS". The few times that I have actually been at the field to pick our kids up, I do not recall being rude to anyone. I'm not going to apologize for being rude to anyone because it didn't happen and you must be mixed up on who i am. Furthermore, after reading some of the posts that people have made on here, it sickens me. I hate seeing my husband's name being run through the mud and all of the other people who have donated their time to make the league better and for the kids. It's really sad.

I do believe they have you mixed up with someone else who is definitely rude.

Just so you know, there were cheerleader sign-ups and there was not enough interest or girls to make teams. A bake sale? Its hard enough getting parents to work the concession stand. Tailgating probably would not be allowed. But if the parks and rec would allow it, it might be a good idea. Yes, a bathroom would be great but you have to have a sidewalk that is wheelchair accessible, same for a permanent concession stand. The city will not help with that. Yes, baseball and soccer are recognized with the city and that is why they have restrooms and concession stands and until football is deemed just as important, we have a portapotty. Programs, hmmm, need someone that wants to take the time to construct those and be in charge of that project. Sell them for $5 and parents heads would split open about how expensive the program costs. It happens at Central. Lots of good ideas in theory but hard to make happen in reality.

Don't ask to volunteer they might say we need your help but if your not in the click with the board you don't have a chance. It's all of who you know and if you want to kiss there butts. Steve Johnson was a jerk and still is. Watch how the teams get stacked this season. I fill sorry for the senior league. The Raiders coach moved up and is over the senior division. I'm sure that's going to work out good for the kids.

That sucks! My son has went to Super Bowl the last 3 years and never won. This will be his last season in MCYLF and he was hoping for a Super Bowl win this year. Guess that won't happen bc we aren't in the "click". Sad for the kids.

I'm going to tell you now. You think last season was bad just wait and see what the new inner circle does. You have a coach move up from Junior league to Senior and guess what he is over the Senior League now and coaching in it. If you notice you can't even post on the MCYFL Facebook page now you can only comment. The inner circle has booted two Senior league coaches that played in the Super Bowel last season. So they could get there inner circle buddies in. Warning right now if your looking for a fair league good luck. The jerk President is not back this season that's a good thing. But the inner circle as you say will be worse this season.

It is CLIQUE' ONLY oriented. The coaches are grown men who THINK there running the NFL.
Nothing about it is fair, chosen fairly, or divided fairly.
Small town league, controlled by over grown bullies who think if they win with little kids..... They are big men !!!!!
Was never happier to move onto middle school and high school ball.
Certain kids get new equipment, certain kids don't.
It's all a big joke.

Stay away from this , that's my advice.

Very true I have seen this myself on handing out equipment. If you want the good equipment you better be coached by the one in the CLIQUE and is a board member. Unfortunately my kid still plays which I want him to. But we are not into sucking up to get him on a board members team.

How is the league so far this year? Supposedly there is new board members and a president?
