I have a tree in my front yard that needs to come down because it is hollow and leaning. Who can I get at a reasonable rate? Tree is about 45 feet. Thanks.

Tree removal is expensive. I had a walnut tree removed from my yard in 1998 and after several quotes had to pay $450 to have it cut down and removed and didnt included digging out stump. Had to rent a stump grinder cant remember exact price but was around $100. so $300 sounds like a good deal.
You might get someone to do it cheaper. But what happens if tree hits your house, car, building, fence. Or they destroy your yard with trucks and machinery while cleaning up.
Be wary, cost isnt the only way to judge a good job.

If $300 was to high cut it down yourself. I really doubt he is insured at that price. Hope itn't close to anyone's house or you might be wishing $3000 was all it cost.

No monkey, I don't want something for nothing. I have gotten a personal friend to sign a waiver now and cut it down for around 200.00. I have had trees cut down before and will not pay those high prices. Have always gotten a good deal in the end. This tree in leaning toward the street and is hollow so one good push could even take care of it.

Oh, well then since you got your friend to sign a waiver then all is good. When the tree goes through the neighbor's house or lands on their car your friend is sure to hop right up and pay the bill.

Hey ya'll hold my beer and watch this!..

Haha...just keep in mind that "waiver" isn't insurance and doesnt keep someone from suing you, but I'm sure as long as you show up to court with the "waiver" the judge will just dismiss any claims against you...since you have a "waiver" and all. I went the cheap route before, it wasn't cheap and I dont recommend it.

That so called waiver is not worth the paper it is written on.If you friend gets hurt or damages property you are on the line.It will be a safe bet that your friend has no insurance, and pays no taxes, check the city or county for a buisness lisence,It is people like you who keep legitimate contractors from making an honest living.Thats why most of the tree trimming people are pill heads and theives. But you do not care all you want is cheap.

You are exactly right! I had a contractor sign a waiver to work on my property, took the waiver to my ins. agent(allstate) and he informed me it was not worth the paper it was written on. After that I always asked if they had ins. and made them produce the papers to prove it and 99% that say they have ins. can not produce proof of ins., Thats when you ask them nicely to leave your property. If it only takes a little push for it to come down, why not just push it over and save some money, if it falls on a city street, the city will clean it up.

Provide the chainsaw. I'll do it for free. I'll cut it up and haul it off. Keeping it from falling the wrong direction isn't rocket science.

I agree dont let Mark Delaney, he will take your money and not come back he gets his pills and he wont finish jobs, everybody needs to take him to court and they will eventually make him quit well the judge here in richmond dont take up for richmond citizens he likes people getting robbed, anything bad he will be for it. maybe take him to lexington court.
