Oh sure, toddlers choose not to speak or hit their milestones because they are bad or want attention... I bet you are a prize winning pup when it comes to cognitive ability.

Hung LO say First, note there is no objective medical test to determine if someone is autistic. There are only varying lists of behavioral traits, some of which are vague enough to fit anyone. Supposed symptoms of autism given by the Autism Society of America, and other organizations, include “insistence on sameness,”“little or no eye contact,”“fixation with certain objects or subjects,” and “preference to be alone.” So in other words, if your child is different, perhaps shy or introverted, they may be autistic and require behavioral therapy, medication and special schooling.
Hung so suspects fraudulent about autism is the “autism spectrum,” which seemingly every human being could fall into, with vague symptoms like “insistence on sameness” and “fixation with certain objects or subjects.”
Talk Show Host Michael Savage says ""In 99% of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they're silent?" Savage said last week in remarks that lit up the Internet over the weekend.
"They don't have a father around to tell them,'Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz.'"
Hung Lo agree with Michael Savage. There is no Autism in China or many parts of the world. It's because Chinese parents are superior and do not put up with a spoiled brat.
Hung Lo hope they no longer give checks out for Autism. Waste of my tax dollars.
Hung Lo is absolutely correct. I was diagnosed multiple times and the "disorder" has zero effect on me. Being different is no reason to assinuate one has a neurological disorder.

Get educated, folks. I refute autism in this video.

Remind me again, when a claim is made that something exists, where does the burden of proof belong? I can't disprove that unicorns don't exist. I think autism doesn't exist based off a lack of evidence to support it. Now give me the evidence that autism has a proven common mechanism, please.

But there is obviously something wrong with these children. They don't have the same genetic problems as people that have mr, but these kids can't speak, some cant communicate, they have trouble sleeping at night and many have severe eating problems. Please, if this isn't a problem, will you tell these kids just to straighten up and start talking? I just don't understand the ignorance of you people that claim that autism is fake. Just because the common mechanism that causes it hasn't been found doesn't mean that it's not a very real and devastating diagnosis. You should be ashamed, but you won't be. You think that for a good time you can get on an anonymous web site and bash disabled children and their parents. Have fun with that.

At the center of our galaxy there resides a super-massive black hole. We don't know the mechanism that created it and it can't be imaged directly by even our best instruments yet even the Vatican accepts that it is real. It's existence can be inferred by the evidence that supports it.
While you are correct in that a common mechanism has yet to be established for Autism, one or more variants of the condition can be reliably inferred from the physical and mental manifestations seen in children.
I am sorry that you may have been misdiagnosed, and that you may have suffered due to that misdiagnosis. However, just because you may not be autistic that does not mean that the disease is not real.

You are so ignorant that you assumed I claim "autistic" people are fakers. What an utterly retarded notion on your part.

"Autism" is a gap to fill in the lack of knowledge to figure out the real illness/impairment. Disease? Please.

That sounds like religious thinking; "Hey I know a dude with autism, how DARE you!!!" is as if you mistake my questioning of the autism concept as if I'm attacking the people diagnosed.

Newsflash, whether there are disabled people diagnosed with autism is irrelevant. Sure there are people who aren't capable of speech, but that doesn't mean autism is the explanation. If we don't know what autism does to the brain then how can you make any assertions as to whether anybody you know with autism really has it? You have an inability to question authority and it shows. You have also insulted my intelligence by giving off the impression I think "autistic" people are fakers. I don't think they're fakers, I think the application of their diagnosis is incorrect.

Question authority???? Who said you had any authority in this matter? Maybe I'm completely misreading your point, I can't tell at times if you are saying these people do or don't have a diagnosable problem... Pick a side and stick with it. How is autism a concept? Maybe it's because of the wide range of diagnosis. When I think of autism I don't think of the shy wallflower who is socially awkward and amazing at math. I think of a child who should be talking and laughing and playing and interacting withe the world around him that can't speak and screams at random times and may never go to the bathroom by himself. I can understand when people fear that this diagnosis will make the socially different people out to be medically flawed. It's possible that autism is over diagnosed. When every medical test is exaughsted and you've seen three different specialists in three different states that all come up with the same diagnosis, you believe them. This whole thread was started to hate monger against autistic kids and their parents. I have no idea why some of the awful things throughout the posts were said and my only guess is that those people have never had to deal with the hurt of being told that their child will never have a normal life. They don't understand the hopelessness and frustration that the families of autistic children face.

Well if autism criteria is resigned to exclude he introverted genius types then I'm all for it... But sadly the research of autism is caught in a "red herring" when it should be focusing more on how to cure verbally disabled people of their problems.

As it stands, things are just going to escalate. There will be a "this causes autism", "that causes autism", and this crapshoot of speculation will shift the focus to "wow the autism puzzle peice is so mysterious :) I pray for the familes inflicted" when instead it should be "How can I solve severe nonverbal issues".
