i respect and care about the feelings of both the family of adam, and mr.jones. from what i have been told, ryan was told by adam that he was shot and needed help? how long was it after adam was moved, drivin.... a story made up between the 2... was it before the authorites were called? i knew adam.... he could have been saved and reformed... my opinion, from ky. middle class.... DONT MEAN SHIT! i believe in god, and he has plans for us all,, what kind of leason shall i learn from this? what kinna leason shall the other 2 boys learn? im not sorry to say that i feel the both could have helped adam more, suffered the conquences and tryed to save his life. and i feel they should both pay dearly for it. maybe... someday... the 2 oung men, will respect what they have, not what they want.... on the other hand..... just like a man, that sits and waits for the ole lady come home late, and has reason to start a fight... or the ole lady doin the same.... mr jones had every right to defend himself, his property... please know that i believe this! but... why did he wait? if he would have called 911... the boys would have heard it and flead... running off cause they did not want to get caught? the mom of ryan has stated that heroine could have been a factor? if mr. jones would have calleed 911 with his gun in his hand, and then acted?

Mr Jones and family wrote: He couldn't have just left the house. He is 92-years-old and his driveway is half a mile long with the nearest house being even further than that. He would have endangered himself even more if he had tried to leave his house. I also know Adam. Adam was, at one time, a very sweet guy. Ned is a wonderful father and did everything he could to raise his son right. Mr. Jones is knew Adam and tried to help him prior to this and Adam took advantage of where Mr. Jone's house is and the type of property he had. It's a sad outcome and Mr. Jones is not happy that he had to kill someone. Anyway you turn it Adam was up to no good that night. He was most likely the leader of the pack & didn`t even bother to be be quiet. Having followed crime stories for years, I shiver to think about what could`ve happened to Earl. Sometimes you get the bear & sometimes it gets you. Going forward, I hope Earl`s family does something about him living alone. Let this be a wake up call.

I'm sorry - how did a 92 year old man have the upper hand if he didn't have the gun and could have LEFT THE SCENE? Was he supposed to RUN OUT OF THE HOUSE? Guess what folks, when folks LOUDLY break while folks are home, there's a good chance they plan to do harm to the homeowners. As for the family of this guy (NOT KID), read the above. Either these MEN were terribly un-bright OR they knowingly were preying on a 92 year old man, whom I wouldn't doubt they thought they could beat into submission. Once again, let me reiterate - PEOPLE WHO LOUDLY BREAK IN WHEN FOLKS ARE HOME PLAN TO DO THEM HARM!!!! So family members, before you plead their case, please address that fact. Look - I hate anyone died. But I think in this case I would have to stand with the homeowners choice, instead of the losers who I think in all likelihood would've hurt this man. At the very least they prey on the elderly. That qualifies as a loser.

If young men are breaking in to people's houses common sense pretty much implies they could be using drugs. Mr. Jones had the right to defend himself and I am sorry that he was targeted so many times and I hope he finds peace in his heart after what has happened. These young men could have killed him first.I have never thought with my opinion he didnt have the right to protect himself. However my opinion was based upon the pour simple fact he had training to kill and the 15 or 20 minutes he waited on them to enter the house from the basement. I wasnt in this predictiment so its hard for any of us to know for sure what would have been the best answer for Mr. Jones . We do however know the young men shouldnt have been there in the first place. To me death is just final and materialism can be replaced. Who knows if Mr. Jones would have been harmed it sure was possible and Mr. Jones definitely had more nerve at 92 than I have in my 40's. To live alone after 3 other robberies shows even more nerve . Thank God this will be over in days too come and everyone can get on with better and happier times.

His mother said he was just a boy!! I think there lies the start of his problems. Instead of treating him like the man he should have been she enabled by treating him like her little boy. Glad Mr. Jones put him in his place. I hope he does not lose a minute of sleep over his actions and from what I have read about him he will sleep just fine. Give his gun back in case he needs it again. Hope i have his spunk at 92.

They were ALREADY under indictment for stealing a backhoe bucket and trying to sell it for scrap. "Boys" will be boys. From The Enquirer ---- ...."Judge Jeffrey Smith said that bond would remain at $50,000 cash. He cited a pending case for both men, who are accused of receiving stolen property in Kenton County, and the gravity of their alleged offenses at the Verona man’s home. In the Kenton County case, Inabnit and Dalton are accused of stealing the bucket off of a backhoe and trying to sell it. They tried to sell the bucket, valued at $2,100, at a Boone County recycling center on July 13, according to court records." ---- http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20120905/N...

Adams family wrote: I can understand that wrong decisions was made. But Adam was a good kid at heart. We loved adam no matter what, and just kept praying for God to touch him. Now using the word scum to decribe someone that you do not know is just wrong. Our family believes that Mr. Jones done what was in his rights to do. We have never once blamed him. In fact we blame all three boys that was involved with it. BUT still yet these boys have mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and CHILDREN that love them. Adam left behind a beautiful little girl because of a wrong decision that he made. You should stop and think about things you write before you judge someone. No matter what is said about Adam and Ryan we know these boys and things that are written can not and will not change our hearts. Rest in Peace Adam....We love you </3 and Ryan we are with you in heart and spirit <3 Blah Blah BLAH!!!! If you had of raised your so called "good kid at heart" right mama your POS son would not be dead! LOL!! Ya live by the sword ya die by it!!!!! No sympathy for you here!! I am so glad the 92 year old HERO shot your POS son and killed him because if he had not have, than it would have been the 92 year old hero's family that would be burying him. I doubt your scum bag son's intention there to have tea and cookies. GOOD F'N RIDDANCE! MAY HE ROT IN HELL! Too bad the other two scumbags did not get shot and killed too. Hope they get raped in PRISON. cause that is where they are going, DAILY!! Little bastards got what they deserved. Makes me feel good your son is dead. Good riddance to bad garbage.

Your hateful words to her, were for nothing, praying for your soul, that God forgive you for your judgments on others.Your uncaring heart you are shoeing, proves you are in no better state of mind that the boys were when this happened. Compassion people! It is so simple :)

Mr. Jones did what he felt he needed to to protect himself, period. It simply doesn't make it any easier to bury a loved one. We are glad that Mr. Jones is not and was not injured, that would just make it even worse. It is a hard thing for a family to swallow when someone you love does something that you KNOW they have been taught not to do. If Adam had a few seconds before he passed, hopefully he asked for forgiveness for his actions, he paid with his life, and again, we are the ones who are left to pick up the pieces. The whole situation could have been prevented, and it is nothing short of heartbreaking!

Pls tell me why it took those naughty lil boys 15 or 20 minutes to decide "lets do it". What where they doing down there during that time? Listening to see if they woke him up yet? Making the final plan? Shooting up heroin? Texting their girlfriends? My guess if they were listening, waiting to see if he came downstairs to check on the noise. Mr Jones could have made some popcorn & fixed himself a drink had he know for sure they wouldn`t be upstairs for a while...

I hope you are talking to someone else, and not the family , because we have said REPEATEDLY that Mr. Jones did what he had to do. He had no clue what they were going to do to him. He had no idea whether or not they were armed. All around a sad situation. Lesson learned, in the worst possible way.

Keywords, he chose. Who would you try heroin when it is widely known what does to you? A beer and joint weren't enough for him. He was in agony and better off out of his misery. Who is left to suffer? His family.
