He didnt fight back , he murdered another human being !!!! He didnt have to kill anyone !!!!! You people are nuts taking up for a murderer but yet hating on a thief not knowing if he even could have harmed another person... The purple heart was suggested because he acted like he was in combat and from the comments on here a few of you are stating he was attacked first by the break in ...
If there wasn't a question if the elderly man was right in what he did than why was it stated on the news report he hasn't been charged with a crime yet ? Yet meaning not likely but possible. All you can see is some poor old man defending himself. I can see further than the nose in front of my face.
The man could have ended up dead or beaten true , but I remember seeing a case like this on dateline I.D. and the actual person was charged with 2nd degree homicide..Check it out!!!! The old man shouldn't have been targeted and I know he had the right to defend his castle. I don't dispute that . I dispute the part where he aimed for the heart and pulled the trigger to kill when even defending his castle he didn't have to kill . This is the only point I am trying to make . He didnt have to kill. No more than those young men have to break in with the intent to rob him.
this is kentucky,USA, that sh*t dont fly here! God does have mercy on us working folks. I believe God will have mercy on this elderly gent, who did what we were taught at a young age, dont start a fight, but dont cower down to thugs. Each person will answer for himself, in the end. I would sleep soundly, if I was the 92 yr old fellow. Preach all want, we still gonna keep our guns loaded, and waitin at the top of the stairs!!!

glad the older man defended himself and his belongings. If he had not shot then he probably would have been beaten to death. People are fed up with all the stealing and breaking into homes. I say gone and forgotten and good riddance to a no good thief.

I honestly believed that you don't have the right to kill. Maybe the gentleman had it already. It was stated that it was the 3rd attempt of burglary. Mockery had been one of the issues here. These youngsters were mocking the old man and now this. They aren't your regular burglars, otherwise they would have gone already and left Adam's body somewhere. These are not bad to the bone kids. For sure they feel so bad on what happened with Adam and their actions. Just so sad that one life had to be sacrificed to learn a lesson. My condolences to Adam's family.

For anyone to suggest that Adam, Ryan or Donnie are "good" should be ashamed. You use consquences such as a "fatherless daughter" or "pain of a family", and yet they knew what the consequences of their actions could be. And the family and friends of these men...you must have known their criminal minds. This was most likely not the first time they've done something like this, all the while giving them family love and support. NO..if you care about someone, you should intervene so they don't ruin their life. So, I get the distinct impression that the families of these men are enablers. No one should honor Adam's memory now. His daughter is much better off without him!

People who are willing to break into someones home to steal are also willing to beat someone to death or kill them. Lawbreakers don't think like normal people. Some of you people defending the criminals are clueless and hopefully never have your home broken into.

The reason the old man sat and waited 15 minutes is because he had no idea how long it would take them to come upstairs. They could have come upstairs in one minute or one hour. The old man had to be prepared. Had he called 911 and they heard him, they could have rushed upstairs and beat him to death.

These men are nothing more than beasts that have abandoned raw meat.

As soon as he got enough money from stealin he was going back to elementary school and maybe hi school.
Now his 4 kids dont have a dad or provider
Or you know... He could of gotten a job from McDonalds or at a gas station.
Instead he choose to steal from an elderly man who protected himself and his belongings from a bunch of hoodlums. I hope his kids learn a lesson from this. Don't break into another persons house and steal, work like every other respectable person.

Yeah, a 92yo farmer WHO IS STILL WORKING should just sit back and be victimized FOR THE THIRD TIME.

I have no doubt that he felt his life was on the line now that people were BREAKING INTO HIS HOUSE and KICKING HIS DOOR DOWN.

My guess is that this WW2 veteran has worked longer and harder than this dead punk and any of his immediate kin did and will do for the rest of their sorry lives.

If Lloyd was worried about the kids he created then he shouldn't have been doing something which might have gotten him sent back to jail or, at the worst, killed.

And since you asked: my family IS peaches and sunshine. We don't get in trouble with the law, we are not a drain on the state welfare system and we give back to the community through donations and volunteer work. So stick that up your ass.

Stop having kids if you're not prepared to care for them. Save everyone the misery. Wear a damn rubber, get your tubes tied.

"Not judge"? My ass! That's part of the reason we have so many of these crapsack half-wiggers running around in the first place.

For the last time, no one in our family wrote that crap about him getting ready to turn his life around, and he has ONE child, not four. We have a huge family, and had we all been actually INVOLVED in his everyday life, may be one of us could have impacted him in some way, to redirect him. We are all paying the consequences now by loosing Adam. That man did what anyone would do, point blank. No one is bashing Mr. Jones for shooting him. That is not the point! The point is, that despite what someone you love is involved in, or does wrong, you still LOVE them. Nothing any of you can say is going to change the fact that Adam has a ton of people that are deeply saddened by his choices, and his death. What happened, happened, and nothing anyone can say will change it. We are all in shock, despite the repeated comments about the WHOLE family, that is just ignorance, NO ONE in our huge family has ever been involved in anything like this, despite what some want to say. People are going to think what they want to, if you are going to speak, do so with some intelligence, say something constructive, because bashing the whole family for one persons actions just shows you are a small minded person.

Wow, i can not say I have ever been GLAD when anyone has been killed, however, I represent the family when I say we are VERY glad that Mr. Jones was not injured. Lastly, that he be able to lay down his head at night and rest peacefully. He did not deserve to be invaded. I pray for anyone who passes judgement on EVERYONE for one persons actions, as much as I pray for Adams soul. So sad when a young person goes down the wrong path, especially when it leads to their death. Please be careful what you say about someone, it can come back on you ten fold. I hope and pray that none of you who speak so harshly against him NEVER have to go through anything like this, that is how karma works, and I wouldn't wish this judgmental bullcrap be put on anyone!

When you do the wrong thing they're consequences. I have sympathy for the the family and any children he may have left behind. However I do not blame the man who shot him at all. When he kicked the door in the old guy defended himself in my book. I wouldn't haw waited around to see what they were going to do or what weapons they may have had on them. The law says you have a right to defend yourself and your property and that's what he did. The lesson to any would be thieves is to think before you enter someone else's home it may be the last thing you do! Life doesn't owe us anything except a birth and a death, we should try to be productive and do good while we are here on earth.

What you are saying here is exactly what we are saying! Do not blame the man at all, just saddened by the whole thing! Adam was killed, and the other two are in jail awaiting judgement, as far as the FAMILY goes, there is nothing we can do at this point, what more does anyone want?! Bad choices=bad consequences. It doesn't make it hurt loosing someone you love nonetheless! This family is just too big to be actively involved in each and every individual family, nor do we all live in close proximity, so how on earth could anyone say that the FAMILY is scum, or pass judgment on everyone? He did it, he paid, it is a done deal. Nothing anyone can say on here is going to change a thing, it is too late!

It is obvious the Adam's family is not defending what Lloyd was doing. Yes they are sad to lose a member of their family, someone can be loved and not be a good person. Love is many thing but controlled and rational it is not.

This elderly gentleman could have done many things. He choose to defend his home. His right and I would have done the same without hesitation. Only person he has to answer for that one is himself.

I cannot judge Lloyd's soul, only God can do that. I can judge his actions on earth and say they are not the actions of a good man.

I have no evidence that Lloyd's entire family or even immediate family are immoral people. I do not believe in guilt by association and I do believe in free will. Lloyd made his decisions and now is having to deal with consequences.

Judge not LEST you be judged!

I both laugh and weep in reading the posts from all the wanna-be-Dirty-Harry's about blowing away the bad guys. Easy to be a tough guy on a computer.

The prophet Ezekiel told me at breakfast this morning to warn you all about your insensitivity to the family of the man who was killed. Isn't it enough that the homeowner is safe? Must you also make allegations about his family? How do you know what they did or didn't do to stop this punk from his evil ways? Let the dead take care of the dead, and let us take care of the living!
